**About the position**:
Currently, we are seeking a Business Development (BD) Specialist to join our Corporate Business Development team in Burnaby, BC.

The Business Development Specialist will plan and carry out sales and BD activities for Houle. They will work within their assigned accounts/ areas and be responsible for building trusting relationships with our customers.

**Business Development Specialist Duties and responsibilities**:

- Work with the Regional Managers and Project Managers to promote all aspects of Houles Services
- Develop & maintain relationships within your Key Accounts and existing clients
- Determine quality new customers for Houle, which may include cold calling on greenfield opportunities
- Be the key interface between our customers and all relevant Divisions in Houle
- Maintain CRM entries and sales activities report
- Listen to and mediate customer concerns, and work to resolve or develop solutions
- Work with Marketing and Project Managers to develop proposal and lead in person presentations
- Represent Houle at industry related functions and promote throughout the engineering firms, architectural firms, building owners,
- Communicate with suppliers to maintain strong partnerships and mine leads
- This role may require you to travel 20% of the time outside of assigned region

**Business Development Specialist Skill and Qualifications**:

- 5+ years related work experience, experience in the electrical industry an asset
- Knowledge of sales principles and practices
- Excellent people skills, with ability to build relationships and proven team player
- Proven ability to sell, close and achieve sales targets
- Experience in leading presentations and public speaking is an asset
- Ability to influence others and ability to negotiate
- Adaptable and goal driven
- Excellent verbal and written communication
