What You'll Get To Do

Reporting to the Chief Flight Dispatcher, Flight Followers are responsible for the safe and efficient operational monitoring of Calm Air flights in support of the Flight Dispatchers.
- Assist Flight Dispatchers by monitoring aircraft movements, maintaining radio contact, and liasing with Flight Crew and Aircraft
- Monitor weather and operational issues and ensure the Systems Operational Control Centre is aware of any potential challenges or irregular operations that may occur
- Analyze operational conditions and identifying any opportunities that may benefit, constrain or impede operational capabilities
- Assist Flight Dispatchers with maintaining effective communication between all Operations departments including out-base staff/managers and other departments to minimize flight delays and day-of-flight schedule integrity
- Observe the Flight Dispatchers in the completion of their duties and work towards successful completion of the Transport Canada FD Operations and FD Meteorology exams
- Other duties as assigned

Hours of Work
- Shift work is required and will include day, evening, night and weekend shifts
- Occasional overtime may be required

Skills & Experience We Value
- Successful completion of the Transport Canada Flight Dispatch Generic Examinations (FDOPS and FDMET) an asset but not required
- Consideration may be given for related experience as a civil or military pilot, navigator, air traffic controller, meteorologist, or weather briefer
- Requirement to be qualified in accordance with CAR 705 and CASS 725
- Must hold, or be capable of attaining, a valid Restricted Operator Certificat - Aeronautics (Radio License)
- Detail orientated, ability to multitask and manage time effectively
- Ability to prioritize and work with mínimal supervision
- Excellent organizational and decision-making skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Must be able to adapt to a constantly changing environment
- Abilty to obtain and maintain a Restricted Area Identification Card
- Inuktitut language considered an asset
- Preference will be given to Inuit Land Claims Beneficiaries
