**THE OPPORTUNITY**:
This is an exciting time to join Branksome Hall, as we continue to evolve our student-centred leadership structure in the Senior and Middle School. With a focus on an integrated student experience that is anchored in social emotional learning, values and innovation, the role of Assistant Head, Student Experience, 11/12 is poised to make a meaningful difference in the lives of senior school students and their families.

As a dynamic, visionary leader and educator, the Assistant Head, Student Experience, will lead and continue building the vertical and horizontal integration within the Grade 11/12 level cohort. Reporting to the Deputy Principal, this is your opportunity to make a difference in all aspects of a student’s experience - from wellbeing, to academics and student leadership to operations. Collaborating with a team of highly engaged colleagues, you will foster a warm and welcoming atmosphere, with an emphasis on social emotional learning and wellbeing, through the lens of international mindedness.

More specifically, the Assistant Head, Student Experience’s responsibilities will include, but is not limited to the following:

- Collaborate with the IB Diploma Program Coordinator, University Counselling Team, School Counselling Team and Learning Strategies Team to understand student needs, and support the implementation of academic and community programming specific to the Grade 11-12 cohort;
- Recommend programs that support the experience, needs and growth of students in 11-12;
- Ensure effective parent liaison and communication spanning a range of activities and issues;
- Coordinate and prepare parent communications for grade cohorts;
- Manage behavioural and attendance concerns in grade cohorts and liaise with parents, as required;
- Support DP Coordinator in addressing issues of academic integrity and play a lead role when needed in our continuum of addressing student behaviour;
- In collaboration with Instructional Leaders and others, provide leadership in resolving parent/teacher and student/teacher issues in a timely manner and ensure an effective solution;
- Lead and collaborate to plan and implement student leadership learning and development - both individual and program opportunities;
- Provide leadership to and coordinate the CAS Leadership credit course (PLF4M);
- Mentor the Social/Wellbeing Prefect, Graduating Years Reps, and Spirit Week Chair;
- Participate in the planning and delivery of high quality, student-focused Middle and Senior School community programming such as assemblies, Advisor programming and grade level collaboration time;
- Participate in the development of leadership learning opportunities for all students;
- As a member of the SMS Leadership Team, mentor, coach and develop clearly defined and articulated learning objectives for student clubs and activities;
- In collaboration with grade level leads/coordinators, lead, develop, and co-ordinate weekly programming for Community Block Time (Assembly, Advisor, Grade Level Collaboration and Fit Friday) for students that provides opportunity for student agency, mentorship, and community engagement;
- Lead the assignment of faculty co-curriculars and supervisions;
- Responsible for the facilitation and the development and regular updating/maintenance of the school master calendar;
- Oversee Week Without Halls program for grades 7-12;
- As a member of the Management Team (MT), collaborate with, and participate in, the implementation of initiatives across the Senior and Middle School;
- Lead and facilitate: Calendar Committee, Graduation planning, Student Experience Team 11/12, Student Experience Faculty Team 11/12, Student Experience Advisor Team 11/12.

**LEADERSHIP PROFILE**:
With a commitment to, and passion for the diploma years program, you are highly relational and build rapport with students and adults, drawing on your strong listening skills, empathy and commitment to our mission, vision and values. You hold a post-secondary degree, preferably a Masters and leadership experience in an academic environment. Knowledge of the International Baccalaureate is preferred, specifically the Diploma Program.
