**Job Summary**

The Winery Retail Manager is responsible for overseeing the winery's retail sales, guest experience, administrative duties, and staff in the tasting room. This role requires strong leadership skills, business acumen, and a passion for wine to drive sales and enhance the customer experience.

**Key Responsibilities**

Sales and Customer Experience
- Develop strategies to achieve retail sales goals.
- Promote and sell wines and retail merchandise.
- Enhance customer experience through wine education, upselling, and superior customer service.

Staff Management
- Recruit, train, and supervise tasting room staff.
- Schedule staff to ensure adequate coverage, including weekends and late nights as needed.
- Conduct performance reviews and provide constructive feedback.

Inventory and Merchandising
- Manage inventory levels and place orders as necessary.
- Coordinate the display and arrangement of merchandise.
- Conduct regular inventory audits.

Reporting
- Track daily, weekly, and monthly sales and generate reports.
- Monitor customer feedback and make necessary improvements.

Marketing
- Collaborate with marketing team on promotions and events.
- Execute in-store and online promotions effectively.

Wine Club and Online Orders
- Manage and grow the wine club membership.
- Oversee the processing and fulfillment of online orders.

Administrative/Office Work
- Ensure smooth day-to-day operations of the tasting room.

Compliance

Ensure that all activities adhere to provincial and local laws regarding alcohol sales and consumption.

**Qualifications**:

- Bachelor's degree in Business, Hospitality, or related field preferred.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of retail management experience, preferably in the wine or luxury goods sector.
- Strong knowledge of wines and the winemaking process.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong leadership and managerial skills.
- Proficient in point-of-sale software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Must be willing to work weekends and late nights as needed.
- Must be 19 years of age or older.
