Palatine Hills Estate is a family-owned and operated estate winery situated on our 100-acre farm. We have completed complete re-brand and renovation of our retail/bar areas and have begun a major patio re-design this spring and are looking to do something a little different in an industry inflicted with "sameness".

Under COVID, it has been made clear that our customers are looking for a casual, open-air experience and we are happy to respond and adjust as necessary. We are excited to shift to a casual, largely patio-based experience and are looking for an experienced and mature individual with a proven track record of hospitality _and _sales. We believe strongly the guests to the region and locals alike are shifting to a less stressful more casual winery environment where their enjoyment is put first. We are excited to offer that experience at a Palatine Hills and re-designed Rambler's Patio.

The retail & bar supervisor will be responsible for the day to day operations of the retail and bar/patio. They will be mature, dynamic, enthusiastic, bring their wine experience, strong work ethic and outside of the box thinking to this role and take great pride in their work. They will focus on motivating and mentoring the retail staff while modelling how to sell wine all while ensuring an outstanding guest experience.
- Assisting in and supervision of all tasting/bar/retail activities
- Maintain high standards of organization and cleanliness of the front of house areas at all times
- Maximizing revenues per guest transaction via a solid understanding of Palatine Hills' wine and estate
- Developing product awareness for staff to promote and enhance their sales effort
- Promoting effective selling practices and ensure they are followed by all staff
- Understanding and adhere to all cash control and inventory control procedures; assists with the monthly retail inventory process
- Merchandising and décor of the retail/tasting bar
- Demonstrated guest service excellence
- Serving and supervisory experience in fast pace restaurant/bar environment
- Ability to recognize when guests and team members would benefit from support and assistance
- Experience working with computer-based point of sale systems and handling cash
- Wine education and/or winery experience considered a strong asset
- Experience with Excel (preferred)
- Smart Serve certification
