**About the Role**:
Reporting to the Director of Congregate Housing, the Manager, Short Stay Crisis Support is responsible for providing leadership and oversight to two program locations in Mississauga and Brampton focused on support to the community.

The individual’s main responsibilities is to oversee a program that provides clients in crisis with time-limited support in a safe, supervised, non-hospitalized residential setting. Clients are offered assistance to connect with sources of ongoing support to work towards recovery and wellness.

They will be responsible for a large team of professionals (PT, FT, etc.) including a PT Supervisor in a 24/7 environment. The individual will ensure that strategic goals established and translated into practical action and relationships are maximized between clients, employees, and community partners.

**Duties and Responsibilities**:

- Manage the day-to-day operations of the program
- Manage and direct daily activities of staff including staff performance, recruitment of new staff, and safety and educational training programs
- Support staff and provide clinical supervision
- Create staff development opportunities, conducting orientations and training sessions
- Utilize a program evaluation framework to assess the strengths of the program and identify areas for improvement
- Align the strategic goals of the company with the goals of the SSCSP and translating those goals into practical actions
- Establish and monitor performance measures and service delivery outcomes
- Create an environment that promotes and encourages change and innovation
- Implement measures to monitor the quality of service delivery and workload regularly
- Act as a liaison among team and other stakeholders to ensure that goals are achieved, processes are improved and resolutions provided
- Define and assess factors that have the potential to create risk
- Develop and revise program policies and procedures and monitors adherence to them
- Analyze program issues and problems, researching best practices, developing solutions and providing advice on trends and strategic directions to Senior Management
- Overall responsibility for client safety and service quality
- Participate in external committees on service initiatives, and liaises with other regional service providers to promote seamless transitions to service
- Building and supporting sustainable and productive relationships with all individuals including staff, senior management, the community, residents and families
- Initiating and maintaining relationships, (in coordination with other staff), with law-enforcement and other human-services agencies, and with informal community resources (e.g., landlords, employers.)
- Perform on-call duty for crisis intervention and for staff supervision and consultation.
- Perform additional duties as required/delegated

**Qualifications**:

- Post-secondary education in Social Work, Social Services, Health Services, or equivalent
- 3+ years Supervising and/or Managing employees
- Past or current experience working with individuals experiencing serious mental health issues and / or the homeless population would be an asset
- Demonstrated ability to work within the organization’s Mission and Values
- Working knowledge of the Mental Health Act and other relevant legislation
- Demonstrated experience in project management
- Demonstrated effective leadership and management skills
- Excellent verbal/written communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong analytical and organizational skills
- Demonstrated ability to work without direct supervision in a team environment
- Excellent oral and written communication skills are essential
- Experience and sensitivity in dealing with members of different cultural and racial backgrounds, including visible and invisible dimensions of diversity
- A valid Ontario Class “G” Driver’s license and a vehicle with adequate insurance coverage

**Working Conditions and Physical Requirements**:

- Monday to Friday Schedule Shift (Days) with the requirement to work weekends based upon program circumstances, Excess/overtime hours may be required where required
- Able to sit for prolonged periods of time
- Able to answer and communicate telephone calls and general computer use
- Able to lift up to 20lbs (product, documents, etc.)
- Able to walk up/down stairs regularly (building inspections, site meetings, unit inspections, etc.)
- Vehicle travel to community sites, SHIP Locations as necessary
