**POSITION**:Finance/Human Resources Officer

**CLASSIFICATION**:Technical Support

The Federation of Sovereign Indigenous Nations (FSIN) is seeking a highly motivated individual who will have the capacity to support both Finance and Human Resources for the new First Nations Ombudsperson Office.

**Responsibilities**:

- **Finance**_
- Review payroll preview, transmit payroll, do follow up with payroll provider.
- Prepare payroll deductions for EI, Group Insurance, Pension Plan and other deductions as required.
- Prepare manual cheques and manual calculations as required.
- Balance Revenue Canada Remittance from Payroll Register to CRA Statements.
- Coding of all invoices for major accounts, travel claims and meeting lists.
- Entering invoices into ACCPAC accounting software.
- Preparation of cheques for signing.
- Conducts monthly reconciliation on Accounts Payable Module.
- Prepares journal entries related to accounts payable.
- Maintains files for all funding agreements and/or contracts.
- Providing financial reports for Senior Management and the Advisory Board.
- Planning, budget preparations and bank reconciliation.
- **Human Resources**_
- Develops organizational strategies by identifying and researching human resource issues and establishing human resource objectives in line with organizational objectives.
- Support human resource strategies by assisting in the development of organization wide accountabilities, including talent acquisition, staffing, employment processing, records management, succession planning and retention.
- Support human resource operations of recruiting, selecting, orienting, training, coaching and counseling staff.
- Preparation of communications, including proofreading.
- Support in the coordination of review and amendments to Human Resource legislation, polices and regulations.

**Qualifications**:

- **Education**_
- Post-Secondary Diploma or Certificate in Business Administration, Human Resources, Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
- Certified Aboriginal Financial Manager (CAFM) Designation
- **Experience**_
- Three (3) years’ experience in Human Resources and/or Finance.
- A combination of education and experience will be considered.
- Computer skills - Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Zoom, MS Team, indeed, SaskJobs, ACCPAC and Human Resources Tracking System.
- Knowledge and understanding of Electronic Payroll System.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Knowledge and understanding of First Nations customs, culture and history.

Salary is based on an established grid and commensurate with qualifications and experience.
