Reporting to the Director, Finance, the Finance Manager will play a significant role in advancing Dixon Hall’s mission by maintaining high standards and supporting the continuous improvement of Dixon Hall’s Finance department. The Finance Manager is responsible for supporting the effective delivery of projects and ensuring oversight for all matters related to financial expenditure and reporting, as well as assisting the financial and operational reporting, day-to-day management and external audits.

**Duties and Responsibilities**
- Provide financial management (budget, tracking, reporting, resource estimates) for projects in support of key leaders accountable for project execution and deliverables.
- Preparation of the annual budget, with direction from the Director, Finance. Including, but not limited to, preparing, and reviewing budget submissions for departments and creating, reviewing, and managing budgets and forecasts for various projects.
- Provide financial analysis, projections, and assessments, and make recommendations to ensure efficiency, advise on financial health on a timely basis, raise red flags when required, and project support to management.
- Strengthen accounting guidelines and policies, improve financial reporting processes and timelines, and fortify the control environment.
- Assist in reviewing major Balance Sheet reconciliations to ensure all balances are complete, accurate and fully supported, and all issues are followed up in a timely manner.
- Assist with funder required financial reports, forecasts, and budgets accurately and on time.
- Work closely with the Finance team to prepare the monthly reporting packages for the purpose of identifying operational trends, problems, and opportunities.
- Participate in monthly close processes and ensure all close timelines, and the integrity of financial results are met.
- Maintain and strengthen internal controls over financial reporting.
- Coordinate the annual audit, ensuring with auditors that all significant accounting issues are being handled in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles.
- Provide backup support for weekly electronic payments.
- Provide relevant and accurate financial analysis on a timely basis to key stakeholders to support decisions.
- Support project analysis, validation of plans, and ad-hoc requests.

**Qualifications**
- A bachelor’s degree or higher in Accounting, Finance or a closely related field of study.
- Current accounting designation (E.g., CPA) or an MBA
- Minimum 6 years of accounting or finance experience working at a senior level.
- 3-5 years experience managing accounting personnel.
- Current knowledge of accounting standards and operational best practices.
- Excellent computer skills, including a working knowledge of Office365 and SharePoint platforms, and familiarity with off-the-shelf accounting software packages.
- Experience with Adagio accounting software is preferred but not required.
- Superior organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities
- Able to manage multiple projects and deadlines, prioritize, and take initiative.
- Self-directed, independent, and proven experience working effectively as an interdisciplinary team member and in collaboration with other community professionals.
- Strong written and verbal English communication skills with a clear ability to exchange knowledge.
- Fluency in additional languages relevant to the communities of service will be considered an asset.
- Must be qualified to work in Canada legally for the employer.
- Able to provide a Vulnerable Sector Screening check with a ‘Clear’ or satisfactory result that meets the operational requirements of the Agency.
- Must have up-to-date vaccinations against COVID-19 with a vaccine that has been approved for use in Canada.
