**What can I expect to do in this role?**: In this role you will:

- ensure that acquisitions are strategically planned to reflect OPS, ministry and cluster priorities
- identify opportunities to increase the cost effectiveness of IT projects, goods and services
- provide solutions and advice on the assessment of business requirement and risks, development of business cases, approval requirements, cost-benefit analyses, acquisition strategies and solicitation documents to facilitate completion of fair, open and competitive procurement processes and management of contracts within the scope, timelines and budget and expected outcomes

**How do I qualify?**:
**Procurement and Contract Management Knowledge**:

- You have knowledge of public sector procurement practices, contract/supply and asset management principles and practices, procurement policies, directives and standing agreements.
- You have knowledge of contract management, contract law, bidding practices and leasing and licensing options.
- You have knowledge of and ability to operate procurement-related systems (e.g. Jaggaer, IFIS) to post request for bids, request award approvals and issue purchase orders.

**Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills**:

- You have the ability to evaluate and assess the client's programs, business and procurement needs as well as vendor submissions/proposals to provide comments and recommendations and assess compliance.
- You have the ability to review procedures, guidelines and systems related to management, monitoring and control of contracts, assets and expenditures to recommend new initiatives and/or revisions.
- You have the ability to provide risk management and solutions oriented approach to clients throughout the procurement process.

**Interpersonal and Negotiation Skills**:

- You have relationship management skills to liaise and negotiate with vendors.
- You have advisory skills to discuss requirements, provide information, options, benefit/risk assessments with clients.

**Communication Skills**:

- You have communication and persuasion skills to advise and inform program managers, senior management, colleagues and staff.
