- Mister Safety Shoes is looking for a dynamic _**_District Manager _**_to oversee the operation of the company’s six (6) retail stores in Pickering, Oshawa, Belleville, Kingston, and Ottawa._

You will play a crucial role in overseeing and optimizing store operations across multiple locations within the assigned district. The role will involve managing store teams and maintaining high customer satisfaction standards. The role also requires collaborating closely with various internal departments to drive operational excellence, manage resources, and contribute to the growth and profitability of the retail team.

**People Leadership**:

- Foster and maintaining positive work environments within our retail stores, and positive working relationships between the company’s departments.
- Serve as a role model to the district store teams of our company values of We Care, Continuous Improvement and Teamwork.
- Motivate and coach team members, recognizing positive behaviors and performance, to achieve financial goals.
- Develop leadership talent and ensure succession plans for key roles, contributing to long-term stability and growth.

**Customer Service and Sales**:

- Upholding a customer-centric approach to ensure teams provide exceptional customer service.
- Addressing customer inquiries, resolving issues, and maintaining a positive brand image.
- Providing necessary training and coaching to staff to ensure each individual customer receives consistent levels of service and sales.

**Operations**:

- Drive the business by directing, planning, and implementing activities that reflect strategic direction and achieve company expectations.
- Direct store management through audits, field visits, reports, and appropriate performance management efforts.
- Evaluate store business results, mentor store managers through P&L reviews and routine store visits.

**Qualifications**:

- Post secondary education or equivalent is required. Post-secondary education in hospitality, business, or other related education would be considered an asset.
- Proven experience as a Retail District Manager or similar role, demonstrating strong problem-solving and leadership skills would be an asset.
- Flexibility to work shifts within retail hours of operation.
- Ability to commute to the locations in the district, with the possibility of overnight hotel stays.
- Ability to carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds with assistance.
- Capability to climb ladders safely to access elevated areas when required for job tasks.
- Flexibility to stand for extended periods, bend and move comfortably to perform job tasks.
- Proficient computer skills to efficiently handle tasks and navigate digital tools such as computers, POS systems, and scanners.
- Working knowledge of MS Word & Excel
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills, ensuring positive interactions with both staff and customers.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to analyze sales and performance data and implement strategies to improve performance.
- Ability to build and sustain collaborative relationships while motivating teams to achieve their goals.
- Demonstrated ability to work well under pressure, handle multiple tasks, and perform duties with a sense of urgency.
