**Job Title: Health & Wellness Consultant - French Resource Development**

**Annual Salary**: Ranging from $59,000 - $92,000, commensurate with qualifications and related experience, pro-rated to FTE.

**Opportunity**:
This project-based position plays a key role in integrating French language content into Ever Active Schools’ resource development and delivery efforts. It offers a valuable opportunity to enhance the availability of French teaching and learning materials across Alberta. The role focuses on translating and adapting resources to align with Alberta’s K-Grade 6 Physical Education and Wellness Program of Studies.

Key responsibilities include creating new resources, such as podcasts, multimedia presentations, e-courses, and a web-based game, as well as adapting existing materials from Ever Active Schools and its partner organizations.

This position reports to the Resources Circle Lead and complements a team of other consultants with diverse skill sets operating within the larger interdisciplinary team of EAS.

This position requires innovative leadership, strong interpersonal skills, experience working in a school setting, knowledge of physical literacy, and an understanding of wellness-related work (health promotion).

**Duties and Responsibilities**:
**French Language Content Development**
- Develop high quality, locally relevant student-facing teaching and learning resources for both French immersion and Francophone students
- Ensure all materials are interactive, have flexibility in use, and meet the criteria outlined in the Provincial Resource Review Guide

**English to French Content Translation and Adaptation**
- Support the translation or adaptation of English materials to maintain accuracy and context
- Adapt content to ensure cultural and linguistic relevance for Alberta’s Francophone and French immersion schools and communities
- Collaborate with stakeholders to review and validate resources for quality assurance

**Curriculum Alignment**
- Align resources to the Alberta K-6 Physical Education and Wellness Program of Studies
- Incorporate diverse teaching methodologies and culturally responsive approaches to ensure relevance to various student demographics

**Collaboration and Feedback**
- Revise and refine materials based on feedback from project lead, Educator Advisory Council, Alberta Education, field-testing etc.

**Project Management**
- Meet project milestones and deliverables within the agreed-upon timelines
- Provide regular updates to the project lead and participate in virtual check-ins or collaborative sessions
- Provide progress updates and maintain documentation for all developed resources

**Innovation and Technology Integration**
- Utilize digital tools and multimedia to enhance the engagement and accessibility of teaching materials
- Ensure resources are delivered in a format compatible with Alberta Education’s curriculum platform

**Qualifications and Experience**:

- Fluent in French and English
- Bachelor degree in Education or a related field, Master's degree is an asset
- Current Alberta teaching certificate an asset
- A minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience in a school, community or health promotion setting
