**Health, and Safety Consultant**
The Continuing Care Safety Association is in the prevention business and acts as the primary resource in providing customized occupational health and safety education, training, and support to 375 member organizations within the continuing care, senior supportive living, healthcare, and community & social services sector aimed at preventing staff illness and injury.
If you have an interest in collaborating with many stakeholders and providing learner-focused consulting and training in the field, online, and in a classroom setting then this job may be for you.
We are looking for an excellent communicator with a “can do” attitude who is able to connect to all types of people and have the skills to put people at ease, as well as inspire and enthuse them.
Key accountabilities include collaborating with CCSA member organizations to identify opportunities to facilitate the development, maintenance, and implementation of health and safety-related activities, along with the facilitation of instructor-led and technology-based training programs using adult learning principles.
Responsibilities and Duties:
The key responsibilities of the position are:
- Promote CCSA as an industry leader with sound industry-best practices in occupational health and safety
- Stay current on Alberta Occupational Health and Safety legislation and of new safety initiatives, relevant to the continuing care, senior supportive living, healthcare, and community & social services industry, to ensure accurate evaluations and recommendations on health and safety management systems
- Provide occupational health and safety program consultation and support to continuing care member organizations
**Qualifications, Education, and Skills**
**Your strengths include**:
- A diploma in occupational health and safety or related health science degree, education background, and experience in occupational health and safety is required
- Broad knowledge of the Continuing Care, Seniors Supportive Living, Healthcare and Community & Social Services Industries with an understanding of how the facilities operate is preferred
- A minimum of Five (5) years of related industry OH&S experience
- Proven coaching and mentorship skills
- Comprehensive knowledge of safety statistics and analysis and able to translate into plain language
- Strong presentational, problem solving, and time management skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
