Ontario Partners in Health (OPiH) is a privately held, health services management company founded in 1989, with our first mandate being to manage health services for the University of Ottawa Health. In 2019, our name was changed to reflect our broader mandate to better develop and manage healthcare services for clients and partners in our surrounding community.

OPiH offers a range of management and consulting services to primary care groups and long-term care facilities, as well as physiotherapy and massage clinics. Our services range from turn-key management of all aspects of our client’s clinical operations to specific mandates related to clinic development, human resources, technology solutions development & implementation, marketing & communications, finance & billing, and facilities & procurement.

**Job Summary**:
We are seeking an experienced Financial Assistant to join our dynamic finance team to support operational finance activities.

**Essential Duties and Responsibilities**:

- Process vendor invoices and employee expenses to vouchers, including verifying, classifying, and recording to correct expense accounts and cost centres.
- Verify and investigate discrepancies with Purchase Orders, regularly review and reconcile vendor accounts and vendor statements.
- Maintain timely payments to the vendors, avoid late payment fees and take advantage of discounts.
- Maintain regular accounts reconciliations, investigate discrepancies, and keep track of outstanding balances.
- Support Accounts Receivable by processing cheque deposits for customer payments, reconciling cash collected from the patients, preparing monthly deposits, and maintaining appropriate records in accounting software.
- Reconcile corporate credit cards and ensure the collection of appropriate supporting documents for transactions.
- Ensure compliance with the company’s financial policies and procedures
- Perform other related duties as assigned.

**Experience and Minimum Qualifications**:

- Degree in accounting or a related field.
- 5 years of experience working in a similar role.
- Experience with maintaining accounting for multiple entities.
- Experience with Multiview is considered an asset.
- Understand Chart of Accounts and Cost Centres.
- Understand compliance issues around accounts payable processes (i.e. sales tax).
- Advanced level knowledge of Excel and ability to learn new software.
- Models behaviour that is aligned with OPiH’s mission, vision & values.
- Exceptional attention to detail, organized and proficient in time management.
- Fluency, both spoken and written in English and French, is highly valued.
