**Employment Opportunity: Advancement Office - Donor Relations Officer**

**(4 month contract from September 2023 to December 2023)**

Established in 1789, the University of King’s College is Canada’s oldest chartered university and is associated with Dalhousie University. **Research and Reporting**

The DRO will use advanced on-line databases, in-house files, reference materials and other public sources, periodically prepares thorough and accurate donor profiles on individuals, corporations and foundations which include biographical, financial and historical giving information, potential for philanthropic support, areas of interest and affiliations.

They will summarize key information for briefing notes and follow up reports tailored to the needs of the director and volunteers. They will also take on the role of secretary to two advancement related committees, booking meetings, preparing packages, and taking minutes. The DRO can expect a total of three meetings in the 4-month period.

**Stewardship**

The DRO will assist with the distribution of the Stewardship Report, receive student awards chart from the Registrar’s Office in October and draft/merge/send student scholarship and bursary notification letters to donors about recipients. They will also reach out to students to acquire thank you notes and work with the director and office manager to share with donors and record donor correspondence in the database.

**Annual Fund Support**

They will review and contribute to the annual giving fund campaign activities, assist with annual giving fund mailings and prepare stewardship letters related to annual giving.
