Transportation Coordinator/dispatcher

**Duties and Responsibilities**
- Plan and schedule all incoming and outgoing loads, coordinate schedules and design routes
- Take incoming calls regarding scheduling from customer sites and contact customers two days before servicing
- Arrange arrival times for outside carriers to deliver waste
- Make temporary arrangements for route changes and vehicle breakdown
- Maintain records and prepare reports related to regular and special routes
- Monitor assigned personnel and vehicles to assure safe, efficient, timely, transportation
- Maintain positive driver relations, ensure peak performance of the driver fleet and report any driver issues or fleet related concerns to the Fleet Operations Manager
- Act as liaison with management, sales, clients and generators to determine scheduling requirements
- Maintain and update client information database as required
- Communicate customer supply requirements to the afternoon supervisor for loading
- Prepare and provide paperwork for daily runs to drivers and print labels for drivers when needed
- Communicate to sales the need for additional pick-ups to ensure trucks are at capacity
- Maintain communication of daily incoming waste with Operations Manager
- Verify generator registration and correct waste classifications on HWIN
- Assist with lab pack set-up and lab pack calls from drivers based on level of expertise
- Arrange trip and oversize permits with the Ministry of Transportation
- Coordinate with other locations regarding inter-company shipments and customer pickups to maximize fleet efficiency
- Follow and adhere to all related company policies and health and safety procedures
- Travel to customer sites and perform Transformer drains at customer sites

**Qualifications**
- High School Diploma
- Minimum 3-5 years’ experience
- Knowledge of municipal provincial and federal transportation legislation
- Knowledge of Transportation of Dangerous Goods Legislation and Ontario Waste Class Codes
- Post-secondary education is an asset
- Effective oral and written communications, interpersonal and organizational skills
- Ability to deal effectively with the public in a professional, efficient and courteous manner
- Ability to maintain accuracy and attention to detail

**Salary**: $50,000.00-$65,000.00 per year
