Autism Nova Scotia delivers programming in Halifax and in nine communities across Nova Scotia through our Regional Autism Centres. Our three program divisions are: Social & Community Inclusion; Employment Support; and Family and Caregiver Support.

**POSITION TITLE**:Community Engagement Coordinator

**POSITION DETAILS**:Full-time (40 hours per week)

**TERM**: 12 Month, renewal

**LOCATION**:Halifax, NS (ANS Central Office - Spring Garden Road)

**DIRECT REPORT**:Manager of Community Events and Giving

**Summary**:
As part of Autism Nova Scotia’s Community Engagement division, the Community Engagement Coordinator plays a key role in the activation of our development and engagement strategies. Reporting directly to the Manager of Community Events and Giving, this position has a dynamic portfolio of responsibilities and opportunities for professional development.

**Responsibilities**:

- With direction of Manager, Community Events and Giving, act as regional walk coordinator for Halifax event site. Activate and support the ongoing development of the Walk critical path and support the administration of Chapter support.
- Recruit and register team and Walkers while providing fundraising coaching to help participants achieve fundraising results.
- Responsible for soliciting sponsors to support events and initiatives.
- Lead Halifax Walk logistics with support of Manager, Community Events and Giving - Halifax is our flagship event site, provincial sponsor activation site, Board engagement.
- Provide logístical, administrative, and promotional support for Best of Local as determined by the Manager, Community Events and Giving.
- Support the sponsorship activation for Best of Local sponsors through marketing, promotion, and engagement.
- Support the development of a strong Community Fundraising (Third Party) toolkit and engagement strategy to grow the # and revenue generated by third party events.
- Develop and manage Community Fundraiser relationships and prospects.
- Conduct prospect research and pipeline management to support the Manager of Community Events & Giving and the Director of Strategic Engagement
- Supports social media storytelling by producing written content and visuals for Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, and our website.

**Qualifications**:

- 3-5 years of related experience in marketing, communication, or digital fundraising.
- Knowledge of Autism Spectrum Disorder and experience supporting autistic individuals.
- Strong relationship-management skills and comfort communicating with stakeholders at various levels of the organization.
- Attention to detail; the ability to prioritize, and excellent time management skills to deliver high quality work for multiple projects while meeting tight deadlines.
- An Undergraduate degree preferred, or equivalent experience accepted.
- Clear, current Criminal Background Check and Child Abuse Registry Search is required.

**Minimum Knowledge and Experience**:

- Passionate, inclusive, accepting, and enthusiastic
- Effective communication and strong interpersonal skills, the ability to exercise sound judgement, tact, and discretion when dealing with others is essential.
- Strong administration and computer skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, CRM)
- Experience in Photoshop or Canva Pro and video editing.
