**Job Summary**
- As the first university-based common law school in the nation, the Schulich School of Law offers a unique and enlightened approach to legal education. Reporting to the Program Manager, the Student Engagement Coordinator is responsible for coordinating, implementing, and monitoring logistics and programming related to the student registration process, convocation eligibility, examination accommodations, the Academic Calendar and course selection process, academic success initiatives, discretionary awards, and ensuring related and necessary information is communicated effectively to students through various methods.

**Key Responsibilities**
- In collaboration with the Program Manager, plan, deliver/monitor, evaluate, and improve Schulich School of Law academic success programming.
- Coordinate Juris Doctor (JD) student registration processes for over 500 students. Monitor student registration and provide registration overrides for non-traditional course offerings. Organize the online registration process: liaise with the Registrar’s Office to determine registration dates and procedures; ensure the system is properly set up for law student registration; assist students with questions or difficulties relating to course registration.
- Audit student course registrations to ensure all students meet the JD degree requirements at key points throughout the academic year, including prior to convocation; notify students of any discrepancies and advise on corrective action.
- Oversee the planning and coordination of the 1L Orientation Week, supervising a summer student Orientation Coordinator position, to ensure effective and engaging programming that fosters belonging, engagement, and academic success for the incoming 1L class.
- Coordinate individual exam-related arrangements for students, including accommodations, deferrals, and supplemental opportunities.
- Provide administrative support for the Office of the Associate Dean Academic, acting as the first point of contact for students, responding to inquiries, drafting correspondence, and supporting other members of the team, as required.

**Note**
- The successful applicant will be eligible for hybrid work (combination of in-person work on campus and remote work) as agreed by all parties based on operational requirements and university guidelines.

**Required Qualifications**
- Business/Office Administration Diploma with three to five years’ related work experience in a student services setting (or equivalent combination of training and experience).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including advanced knowledge of Excel, is required as well as the ability to learn new software programs (i.e. Law Marks, Banner, UniHub), and effectively trouble-shoot.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Excellent organizational skills are key, along with the ability to multi-task and maintain a high degree of accuracy.
