International Admissions Officer

**The Opportunity**
Reporting to the Team Lead, International Admissions and Enrollment, this role will work in conjunction with the Team Lead in being responsible for actioning IC enrollment management tasks, making offers, deferring students and completing international document assessments, with the authority to quickly make admission, cancellation, and deferral decisions.
The incumbent will also work closely with the Team Lead and IC Leadership to expand international student enrollments and is required to work both independently and in a team setting with a shared and collaborative attitude.
**The Role**:
- ** International Admissions**:
- Assessment of international transcripts, including research and interpretation towards Canadian equivalencies, to render admission decisions based on in-house or external evaluations and admission criteria
- Provides information to potential international students and their representatives regarding program availability, admissions criteria, selection criteria, pre-admission requirements, applicant status, etc.
- Assist with delivering exceptional customer service by responding to inquiries by applicants regarding admission processes/statuses and updates, using the Freshdesk platform
- Complete evaluations of international documents for admission requirements
- Confirm that all International tuition deposit fees are paid by deadlines
- Assist with deferrals and associated activities pertaining to the admissions cycle
- Assist with processing international cancellations and related refunds

Project Coordination and Enrollment Management Initiatives**:
- Work with leadership and other team members to develop, implement, and maintain best practices in terms of admissions procedures and provide expert admissions knowledge and training to other members of the team, specifically related to International applicants.
- Participates in the communication strategies and tactics related to the admission cycle
- Support the delivery of customer-centric service to applicants
- Fill programs to targets as established by the Team Lead, International
- Leadership may assign duties, responsibilities and projects as required
**Qualifications**:
- Post-secondary diploma or degree, preferably in International Relations, International Communications, International Business, etc.
- A minimum of 2-3 years of directly related experience in International Education and international Admissions in a post-secondary setting
- Previous experience evaluating educational documents would be considered an asset
- Ability to foster collaboration and trust, and to work positively with the ability to inspire others to high levels of performance
- Need to have a strong understanding of the Canadian immigration system
- Superior interpersonal and communication skills, including excellent ability to communicate with people from a wide variety of cultures and linguistic backgrounds
- Experience working in International Education/or Office of the Registrar setting in a college and/or university setting
- Knowledge and understanding of applied education
- Experience living, working or studying abroad is preferred
- Experience with student information systems (Banner, VAS, OnBase etc.) preferred
- Second language would be an asset
