**Position Summary**
Our Manager of Investor Services will take a holistic view of Alberta and the role that the visitor economy plays in supporting the province both economically and culturally. The Manager, Investor Services, brings market intelligence and insights to the investment community and tourism industry to enhance the likelihood of securing capital to build the visitor economy across the province.
As a key member of the team, they will work closely with multiple team members including the Manager, Investment Insights and Performance, the Director, Industry Investments & Commercial Partnerships, the Vice President, Economic Development, and the Business Intelligence Team.
**What You Will Be Doing**
**Business Development**
- Proactively identify and qualify investment leads for Travel Alberta's Tourism Development Zones.
- Promote Alberta as an ideal destination for tourism investment by leading the development of pitch decks and associated resources to support investment inquiries.
- Alongside the Chief Commercial Officer and Director,Tourism Investment and Commercial Partnerships, lead client outreach by presenting Alberta's value proposition and the business case for investing in Alberta.
- Proactively track and manage Travel Alberta's private sector investment pipeline and reports on pipeline status.
**Investor Concierge Services**
- Establish and maintain a network of professionals from economic development, industry, intermediaries and government to support client inquiries.
- Liase with officials from multiple orders of government to gain research insights and intelligence in support of tourism stakeholders.
- Support Investors and tourism businesses in navigating Alberta's regulatory environment.
- Develop and deliver on targeted regulatory initiatives for internal and external stakeholders to advance commercial development.
- Identify and monitor investment funding programs from multiple sources to incentivize tourism investment.
**Investment Attraction Strategy**
- Support the Director, Industry Investments & Commercial Partnerships on the development and management of an investment advisory council to Travel Alberta
- Develop an analysis approach and assessment of investment proposals and accompanying communications that convey a clear understanding of the unique tourism investment opportunities throughout the province - particularly in the ten tourism development zones. This work will include working closely with vendors who deliver expertise and services in this area, as well as the Manager, Investment Insights and Performance.
- With the Manager, Investment Insights and Performance, will provide input on the development of Travel Alberta's tourism investment programs to ensure they meet the needs of investors.
**Who You Are (Qualifications)**
- Bachelor's degree in commerce, business administration or relevant field of study or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- A minimum of 5+ years of direct experience working in the economic development, development, or tourism sector.
- You bring a strong understanding of the economic development and investment attraction ecosystem and can easily identify the connections necessary to advance a project.
- You have experience navigating all orders of government.
- You are client-oriented seeking opportunities to ensure you add value to all client interactions.
- You are results-oriented and have a proven track record of facilitating commercial development opportunities.
- You easily build rapport with others and can relate openly and comfortably with diverse groups including entrepreneurs, government officials, private capital investors, C-level executives, as well as indigenous communities and peoples.
