Mortgage Funding Analyst

Located in **Edmonton, Alberta** and reporting to the Director of Mortgage Underwriting and the Managing Partner, you will work with the Mortgage Origination team to **assist and facilitate the funding of loans on behalf of our borrower clients.**
This is a position that works in a **team-based and collaborative environment** focusing on a high level of client-centric service for loan funding and closing. This position will expose the analyst to a wide variety of commercial real estate transactions and provide industry-leading exposure to commercial real estate fundamentals.

**Education and Skills**
- Post-secondary education would be considered an asset.
- Experience in the Commercial Real Estate Industry is an asset.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- High attention to detail.
- Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Basic knowledge of Excel is required.
- Past teamwork, and team player focus, and experience required.
- Knowledge of the Real Estate or Finance Industry is an asset.
- Demonstrated strength in critical thinking and problem solving.
- Proven communication skills, both verbal & written, including the ability to challenge others with diplomacy and tact when appropriate.
- Proven ability to maintain a low error rate under high work volume and short deadlines, using time management skills and a high level of detail orientation.
- Ability to develop and maintain a positive working relationship with a variety of internal and external stakeholders, including but not limited to brokers, solicitors, and investors.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively adapt in a high-change environment while maintaining a high level of quality in your work.
- High level of self-motivation, with a demonstrated ability to work both independently and as part of a tight-knit team, including the ability and willingness to take direction when necessary.
- Proven organizational skills and demonstrated ability to prioritize competing requests under pressure.
**Responsibilities**
- Working with the Origination team to manage and coordinate the funding process.
- Review of a wide variety of mortgage loan-related documentation from various lenders including
- Canada ICI’s servicing clients and 3rd party lenders.
- Comparison and analysis of documentation received, against agreed-to terms contained in documentation including term sheets and commitment letters.
- Liaise with Brokers, Borrowers, and Investors to ensure that all supporting documents and pre-funding conditions have been received and satisfied before advancing funds.
- Liaise with third-party partners including but not limited to; Insurance Consultants, Solicitors, and Quantity Surveyors to **review and anticipate any issues that would result in the delay of loan funding.**:
- Assist to streamline the Anti-Money Laundering (AML) documents on behalf of the Borrower.
- Coordinate closing process with the applicable investor, ensuring that all investor requirements have been met and investor approval has been received in a **service-centric, communicative, and timely manner.**:
- Coordinate and facilitate the locking of the interest rate, ensuring that all pre-rate lock conditions have been satisfied and investor requirements regarding the timing of rate lock are met.
- Conduct post-funding reviews and resolve open post-funding issues as directed.
- Review and summarize all third-party reports (appraisals, BCA’s, Environmental, etc.).
- Organize and manage all project-related documentation, information, and folders.
- Ensure all written and electronic documentation meets compliance requirements while maintaining highly organized and current data files for all client sales folders.
- Establish relationships with third-party report providers (appraisers, engineers, cost consultants).
