**Position Responsibilities**- Culinary Arts provides Cook apprenticeship and Culinary Arts Diploma training at the main campus of Red Deer Polytechnic (RDP). Programs offered utilize the Cornerstone Dining Room restaurant and a variety of culinary activities to offer students applied real-life hands-on experience affording them the opportunity to enter the food services industry with relevant and applicable skills. The knowledge gained in an active functioning kitchen environment paired with practical experience in industry through supported work placements, places RDP students at the top of employer’s most desired recruiting lists throughout the region and beyond.- Faculty instructors are responsible for the development, delivery, assessment, and recording/reporting learner activities. Support to carry out activities of the requisite program outline are supported by program assistants and the department Chair of Culinary Arts.For further information contact:

**Required Qualifications**
- Journeyperson Certificate with Red Seal or Culinary Arts diploma with relevant experience
- 5 years of work experience as a professional cook
- Intermediate level proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint
- Effective time management and organizational skills
- Aptitude for mentoring and coaching others
- Valid Drivers license

**Preferred Qualifications**- Experience teaching post-secondary learners through both in-person and online formats

- Red Deer Polytechnic offers a comprehensive benefits package including Alberta Blue Cross extended health and dental plans, and health spending account. There is a tuition waiver for RDP credit courses for you as well as your immediate family members, as well as opportunities for professional development funding. The Local Authorities Pension Plan is also offered as an option to those who have served a waiting period. There is paid time off due to Institution closures between Christmas and New Year general holidays.
