**Position Responsibilities**
- The School of Trades and Technology is seeking a Sessional Plumbing Instructor starting on August 13, 2024 to teach and develop curriculum in the Plumbing Apprenticeship program. **Tradesecrets - Plumber (alberta.ca)**
- Job duties will include:
- Develop and maintain program delivery resources for the Alberta Plumbing Apprentice program.
- Deliver instruction of technical theory and applied hands-on shop practice of the Alberta Plumbing Apprenticeship program.
- Assess and report student learning outcomes according to RDP School of Trades policies.
- Collaborate with Plumbing department faculty and participate in School of Trades and Technology and program-specific committees.
- Actively participate in program promotion and student recruitment activities.
- Red Deer Polytechnic’s School Trades and Technology is the third largest Apprenticeship training provider in Alberta, offering training in **17 Apprenticeship trades** and two **Engineering Technology** Diplomas. **Required Qualifications**
- Alberta Journeyman Certificate in Plumbing
- Inter-provincial Red Seal Certificate
- Minimum 5 years post-Journeyman work experience
- Effective time management and organizational skills
- Comfortable with public speaking
- Aptitude for mentoring and coaching others
- Intermediate level proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint

**Preferred Qualifications**- Post-secondary teaching experience via in-person and/or online formats.
- Journeyperson certification in one or more additional related trades
- Management or leadership experience.
