**JOB SUMMARY**:
The City’s Housing Services is responsible for effectively influencing, advocating and implementing a housing system that meets the needs of the City of Ottawa. Under the direction of the Director, Housing Services, the Program Support Consultant supports the planning, coordination and implementation of projects, programs and initiatives.

You are responsible to : research, interpret and communicate housing policies and legislation; develop and implement operational guidelines, best practices and standards to achieve effective service delivery across all teams; liaise with the assigned service area teams, department and/or external stakeholders in the implementation of project plans and business processes to ensure successful outcomes; contribute to the Director’s Office public engagement and communication plans, and write, edit, and coordinate the design of materials and content intended for stakeholder distribution.

**EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE**:
Completion of 4 year university degree in Social Sciences, Public Administration, Business Administration or a related field.

**KNOWLEDGE**:

- Regulations of the Change to Housing Services Act and other Housing policy and provincial or municipal legislation
- Current on social, economic, political issues and trends, and the related challenges facing the City of Ottawa and the social services system;
- Municipal operations, City, corporate and departmental operational and administrative policies and procedures, departmental business requirements and organizational structures
- Project management principles and practices
- Knowledge of applicable health and safety legislation, including the rights and duties of workers

- Highly developed verbal communication, presentation, writing and analytical abilities.
