**Responsibilities**
- Maintain, update and process payroll records for employees by collecting, calculating and entering data;
- Balance and reconcile payroll accounts, analysing and scrutinizing payroll anomalies;
- Process required fillings, including but not limited to source deductions, WSIB, EHT, union dues,
- FRO/Garnishments;
- Prepare and process documents regarding university benefits;
- Prepare and submit Record of Employment (ROE) as required;
- Respond to employee enquiries by answering questions and requests;
- Resolve payroll discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information;
- Prepare necessary reports by compiling and reconciling data;
- Maintain payroll operations by following policies and procedures;
- Contribute to team effort by assisting other payroll clerks as required;
- Maintain employee confidence and protect payroll operations by keeping information confidential at all time;
- Perform other duties directly related to payroll function as assigned.

**Qualifications**
- Bachelor’s degree in business or accounting preferred;
- Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) certification is required;
- Three to five years of computerized payroll experience, performing full cycle payroll administration in a unionized environment is an asset;
- Advance knowledge in excel spreadsheet software;
- Ability to do calculations quickly and accurately;
- Solid knowledge of relevant provincial legislation, policies and regulations;
- Proficient computer skills with working knowledge of relevant software (Word, Colleague Payroll System,
- Gmail, Google drive);
- Excellent communication abilities with aptitude in problem-solving;
- Ability to deal with sensitive and confidential situation;
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with minimum supervision and meet deadlines;
- Exceptional multitasking and organizational skills;
- Ability to work in both official languages; French is an asset.

**Hours of Work**

The official University hours of operation shall be from 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, during, and including, the months from September to April, and from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m Monday through Friday during and including May to August., amounting to thirty-three and three-quarter (33.75) hours per week.

**FONCTIONS**

Le commis à la paie a la responsabilité d’apporter de l’aide dans tous les aspects du traitement de la paie à tous les cycles de paie. La personne retenue devra administrer le cycle complet de la paie des employées syndiqués et non syndiqués, y compris équilibrer la paie, rapprocher les comptes de la paie, préparer les dépôts requis et effectuer les comptes de fin d’exercice.

**TÂCHES**
- Tenir, mettre à jour et traiter les dossiers de paie des employés en recueillant, calculant et saisissant des données;
- Équilibrer et rapprocher les comptes de la paie, analyser et examiner les anomalies;
- Traiter les dépôts requis, notamment les déductions à la source, à la Commission de la sécurité professionnelle et de l'assurance contre les accidents du travail, à l’impôt-santé des employeurs, les cotisations syndicales, au Bureau des obligations familiales/saisie-arrêt;
- Préparer et traiter les documents touchant les avantages sociaux de l’Université;
- Préparer et transmettre au besoin des relevés d’emploi;
- Répondre aux demandes de renseignements des employés;
- Résoudre les incohérences dans la paie en recueillant et analysant des renseignements;
- Préparer les rapports nécessaires en compilant et rapprochant des données;
- Suivre les politiques et procédures dans le traitement de la paie;
- Contribuer au travail de l’équipe en assistant au besoin d’autres commis à la paie;
- Aider à préparer le rapprochement de fin d’année, l’enregistrement et la délivrance des T4 et T4A;
- Protéger en tout temps la confidentialité des renseignements des employés et des activités liées à la paie;
- Accomplir toutes autres tâche liées à la paie qui lui sont confiées.

**EXIGENCES**
- Baccalauréat en comptabilité, affaires ou un domaine connexe, de préférence;
- Certificat de spécialiste en conformité de la paie, obligatoire;
- De trois à cinq ans d’expérience en traitement informatique de la paie, administration du cycle complet de la paie dans un environnement syndiqué, un atout;
- Connaissances avancées du logiciel de calcul Excel;
- Capacité d’effectuer des calculs rapidement et précisément;
- Solides connaissances de la législation, des politiques et des règlements provinciaux pertinents;
- Bonnes compétences en informatique et connaissances pratiques des logiciels pertinents (Word, Colleague Payroll System, Gmail, Google Drive);
- Excellentes aptitudes en communication avec capacité de résoudre des problèmes;
- Capacité de faire face à des situations délicates et confidentielles;
- Capacité démontrée de travaille
