As an expert navigator of the Canadian health care, regulatory, and technology landscape, Providence Health Care Ventures (PHCV) provides indispensable support to corporate, institutional, and individual innovators seeking to validate and commercialize their products and ideas. PHCV offers a portal to Providence Health Care (PHC) in Vancouver, Canada, a renowned provincial health organization whose lengthy innovation record and size make it an ideal incubator to validate and scale innovations. PHCV actively co-develops health solutions, incubate ideas, forge unconventional partnerships, facilitate consulting relationships with PHC clinicians, and invest in health start-ups. PHCV is a wholly owned, for profit subsidiary of PHC.

Reporting to the designated supervisor, the Project Manager II leads and coordinates all aspects of the current projects undertaken by the department. The role ensures the deliverables are completed on time and on budget, as identified in the project plan. The Project Manager II will lead and coordinate project activities including financial responsibility for the project and management of resources as deemed necessary to meet the schedule and budget for the project deliverables. The Project Manager II identifies and tracks metrics as they relate to the project deliverables. The role establishes the project team and provides leadership, guidance, supervision, and support to designated project staff, contractors and partners.

Qualifications / Skills and Education: Education, Training and Experience

A level of education, training, and experience equivalent to a Bachelor’s Degree in Business or a relevant discipline with a minimum of ten (10) years’ recent, related experience in project management, supervision, and facilitating and managing consultation processes with a wide range of partner groups. Project Management Professional Designation considered an asset. Experience or working knowledge of quality improvement methodology and change management is key to the success of this role.

Skills and Abilities
- Demonstrated ability to manage and plan major health technology-related projects with industry, academia and government consortiums.
- Demonstrated track record of delivering high value projects (>$6M) on time and on budget with general knowledge of current health care systems, issues and trends related to computing infrastructure and data engineering needs.
- Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects and tasks in a dynamic environment with changing priorities.
- Excellent communication skills to function within a complex interdisciplinary environment, including ability to communicate with the physician community.
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
- Demonstrated ability to persuade and mediate multiple internal and external partners.
- Ability to provide leadership, guidance and direction to others including staff and contractors.
- Ability to development and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external partners.
- Ability to work independently and as a member of a team.
- Physical ability to perform the duties of the job.

Duties and Responsibilities: Establishes detailed project charters, plans, and objectives to outline timelines and project deliverables. Executes project plans according to project methodologies, ensures successful and coordinated completion of project components, facilitates consensus with partners as needed, and ensures readiness for project completion.

Tracks project progress according to project plan and identified metrics. Monitors and reports on the status of projects and major barriers encountered. Makes decisions and recommendations regarding project scopes and related changes required to facilitate a successful outcome. Implements or contributes to the implementation of effective processes to assess project risks, identifies risk mitigation strategies and monitors risk throughout the project lifecycle.
