About you and this role - What you would do in this role
EH&S Technicians share responsibility for the implementation of the EH&S management system, in order to meet business objectives and to maintain the license to operate. Provides hands-on industrial hygiene (IH), and health and safety (H&S) activities for Alberta Operators. Requires broadened technical skills in analytical/scientific methods or operational processes to perform a defined array of activities. May act as an informal resource for team members with less experience.
Responsibilities - Duties, projects, tasks, and activities you would be responsible for in this role.
- Implements detailed, task level, day to day EH&S programs, utilizing the EH&S work process, standards and procedures.
- Ensures that the IH, and Health and Safety aspects of operating discipline are adequate and applied to achieve EH&S performance goals. In most cases, would perform the role of section owner for the IH sections of operating discipline.
- Acts as the site resource for related IH information on procedures, guidelines and standards.
- Serves as contact for IH issues.
- Coaches teams and individuals on IH related tasks and activities.
- Assists in developing and achieving area EH&S goals.
- Ensures compliance tasks are completed.
- Performs/coordinates certain IH monitoring, data collection, analyzing and reporting for the site.
Qualifications - Required education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities that are needed for this role (must haves).
- A minimum of a High School Diploma or higher.
- Either currently have or willing to obtain Radiation Safety certification within 90 days of hire.
- A minimum requirement for this Canada based position is the ability to work legally in the Canada. No visa sponsorship/support is available for this position.
Preferred Skills - An expanded list of qualifications that are "nice to have", but not essential.
- 2 Year Degree or higher in related field. In lieu of degree, 3 years of EH&S, Manufacturing or other related industry experience required.
