**ABOUT THE ROLE**
This role is responsible for leading the delivery of Compensation programs, including the day-to-day direction of the Compensation team, participating in developing and implementing compensation strategies, initiatives, and policy enhancements; providing expert advice and guidance to management and to the People, Equity, and Culture (PEC) team regarding compensation, job evaluation, and various compensation programs and policies; overseeing and improving efficiencies of related processes and procedures, and ensuring programs are supportive of corporate objectives and reflective of industry best practices and legislative requirements.
**WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING**
- Provides recommendations to ensure competitive positioning of the Region’s Compensation programs.
- Leads the identification of compensation process redesign opportunities, process efficiency enhancements, and the development of recommendations and action plans.
- Participates in the development and implementation of the compensation strategy involving the identification, assessment, and development of programs; maintains compensation tools, systems, and processes to administer policies, procedures/guidelines and salary information, ensuring compliance and defensibility of programs.
- Oversees and leads the job review process for both union (including the Joint Job Evaluation Committee) and non-union jobs, including reviewing practices and processes, development of job descriptions, classifications, and compensation guidelines etc.
- Proactively identifies compensation issues and proposes solutions including process documentation and the development of communication to inform stakeholders of program and/or process changes.
- Evaluates programs, plan design, and processes by reviewing metrics, executing surveys, reviewing best practices, monitoring legislative landscape, and conducting needs analyses, making appropriate changes to processes and procedures where appropriate to ensure alignment with business strategy and compliance with legislative requirements.
