**Position Overview**

As Controller, you are a key member of our Cabot Home Office team with a focus on Cabot Cape Breton, as well as Cabot Citrus Farms and Cabot Saint Lucia and will be instrumental in building on Cabot’s legacy of world-leading golf destinations. You will be the fiscal “backbone” of our business and with a high level of integrity, accuracy, and confidentiality, ensure that Cabot always operates from a position of financial strength. In this role, you’ll work on a variety of projects to support Cabot’s growing collection of luxury golf and real estate developments. This role will serve as the main point of contact for financial reporting and analysis across Cabot’s portfolio in the Americas.

**Profile Overview**

Reporting to Cabot’s Home Office Head of Finance, Americas, the Controller is a dynamic problem solver, innovator, and leader interested in taking on tasks outside of key responsibilities. Your flexible and collaborative working style is a great fit for Cabot’s culture and will allow you to use your knowledge and experience to oversee financial reporting for Cabot Cape Breton, and Cabot Citrus Farms and Cabot Saint Lucia.

The Controller will work very closely with the Cabot Home Office team based in Toronto Ontario, Canada, as well as the property level teams at Cabot Cape Breton, Cabot Citrus Farms and Cabot Saint Lucia. **Core Accountabilities**:

- Prepare monthly consolidated financial statements including P&Ls, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow Statements, supporting commentary and budget to actual variance analysis
- Collaborate with senior leadership team to prepare detailed annual budgets in support of financial and organizational goals
- Update financial forecasts monthly based on up-to-date relevant information
- Awareness and ability to raise issues and problem solve pro-actively
- Extremely detail-oriented
- Ability to take on responsibilities outside of main job accountabilities, ability to prioritize and manage under time pressure
- Collaborate with project leadership, consultants, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure proper project cost/construction accounting is established and tracked
- Oversee debt draws and ensure all loan reporting and covenants are accurate, complete and in compliance
- Establish, lead, and continuously improve month-end closing procedures
- Approve and process invoices for payment, including treasury management
- Prepare financial and operating metrics, and analyze data to help senior management understand how the numbers translate into business decisions
- Complete all provincial and federal reporting/audits
- Ensure all tax payments are up to date and assist with annual tax return preparation as required
- Support the General Manager in the preparation of all materials for all investor and other stakeholder presentations
- Establish and monitor appropriate financial controls that are appropriate for the business’ size and stage
- Ensure secure and efficient storage of documentation
- Ensure appropriate insurance is in place at the property level
- Lead the annual year-end financial audit process at the property level
- Approve weekly cheque and EFT/Wire runs
- Possess cash/treasury management skills

**Skills**:

- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Strong IFRS, Sales Taxes knowledge, and financial reporting technical skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Word, Excel)
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills
- Resourceful, detail-oriented and solutions-driven
