We are currently recruiting for the position of Safety Supervisor. This newly created role will report to the Safety Manager for Wright Canada Holdings Ltd., based in Prince George, BC with indirect reporting to the Division Manager based in Calgary, Alberta.

The role of the Safety Supervisor is to work collaboratively with all levels of the organization to proactively manage all safety prevention initiatives which is core to our values.

Duties include, but are not limited to:

- Either jointly, or as the lead, conduct onsite safety training for both the General Foreman (GF) and/or crews.
- Conduct group safety meetings with the General Foreman and management regarding accidents, near misses, etc. and the corrective course of actions.
- Investigations, reportable accident reviews, including identifying and filling training gaps.
- Emergency drills and response.
- Competency checks on field staff.
- Coordinate, Conduct, and track all safety related training, such as:

- Safe Driving
- Drug and Alcohol Reasonable Suspicion/ Post Incident for GFs and Management
- Chainsaw safety standards
- Rigging and groundwork
- Chipper/ PME operation
- Working aloft (bucket or climbing)
- Coordinate and track the timely completion of external qualifications and training for employees, including:

- First Aid
- CSTS
- Pesticide Applicator Certification
- Chainsaw operating standards
- Utility Tree Worker/ Trimmer

What you bring to the role:

- Previous experience in a supervisory capacity required.
- Valid class 5 driver’s license.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience working on tree trimming or clearing crews.
- Previous experience managing and supporting safety programs is required.
- Certification as an arborist is considered an asset.
- Knowledge and understanding of provincial Occupational Health and Safety regulations within British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, and Ontario.
- Basic knowledge of electrical circuits and utility environments.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills to communicate with the public, customers, and fellow workers.
- CTSP certification and a certified arborist is considered an asset.
- Ability to travel up to 75% of the time throughout Canada, and able to travel to our corporate office in the U.S.

Physical Requirements:

- Physically able to conduct inspections and carry equipment up to 25 kg used for inspections.
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
