**Safety Advisor, Full-Time (Calgary in Office)**

Our Calgary Head Office location is seeking an experienced Safety Advisor to support our diverse operations. This full time, Monday to Friday in office position with frequent travel required throughout Alberta and BC.

**Description**:
Reporting to the Corporate Safety Manager and working closely with operational leadership, the Safety Advisor will be responsible for the successful implementation, administration and reporting of EFCG safety programs and initiatives to ensure compliance with Safety Management System (SMS), policies, and standards. This position is located on site and is based out of our Calgary Head office location; however, it is required to support and work at any EFC Group site as required.

**Responsibilities**:

- Promote, implement, and maintain Health and Safety and Quality projects and initiatives.
- Ensure all regulatory, legislative and industry standards are adhered to including Transport Canada, Canada Labour Code and OH&S regulations, standards, and practices.
- Assist in the development and maintenance of EFCG’s Occupational Health and Safety Program within our Operations department(s).
- Assist department supervisors in understanding safety responsibilities and roles, providing leadership and support to the implementation and administration Occupational Health and Safety systems.
- Work with our Operations department to promote a proactive safety culture in terms of compliance. Support and advise team members on Occupational Health and Safety laws and policies, hazard identification, and risk assessments.
- Conduct regular inspections and audits of the various operations throughout the EFC Group of Companies to reduce or eliminate substandard acts or conditions, focusing on preventative measures in the workplace.
- Manage and maintain the EFCG online safety management system.
- Maintain safety records and reports.
- Respond to incidents, near misses, and hazard ID reports appropriately, as required, including communicating, training, coaching, and following up with managers, supervisors, and employees.
- Follow up with sites about health and safety initiatives, records, and incident findings.
- Follow up with corrective actions to ensure implementation and completion.
- Lead incident investigations to identify root causes and implement meaningful corrective actions.
- Work closely with Human Resources and operational leaders to manage and reduce workplace injury/disability claims.
- Encourage and promote positive and effective safety and quality culture through communications initiatives and coaching.
- Maintain a tidy and orderly work area exhibiting pride in work performance and contributing to a healthy and safe work environment.
- Ensure exceptional, courteous, and respectful customer service.
- Comply with and participate in the Company’s Health & Safety and Quality programs and initiatives.
- Perform any other duties as required.

**Qualifications and Experience**:

- Occupational Health and Safety Certificate or equivalent is preferred.
- Knowledge and experience of working with COR requirements, WCB, and Alberta Occupational Health & Safety legislation is required.
- Experience in the aviation industry with direct knowledge of operations in an airport facility with understanding of ramp, fuelling ground operations, airport and aerodrome operations is preferred.
- Minimum of two years’ experience in the aviation/airport industry in a safety and/or quality assurance role, preferably supporting field locations.
- Valid First Aid Certificate is preferred.
- A valid class 5 driver’s license (No Graduated Driver’s License or restrictions permitted) and clean Driver's Abstract are required as a condition of employment.
- The ability to be on call is required.
- Able to obtain a RAIC security clearance.
