- As a Human Performance Researcher, you will conduct and analyze science around human performance and human factors research to create new scientific knowledge and aid in the understanding and development of training for police recruits and officers to ultimately improve operational safety and performance. Primary duties include:

- Conduct and manage a human factor and psychological research project from inception to dissemination to provide evidence-based information to improve or create police training methods and systems.
Identify and propose areas of research by conducting literature review, theory and assessment of gaps including the use of simulation and virtual reality equipment and software for police training.
Establish the research question, protocol, methodology and design.
Conduct human factors and or psychological research utilizing simulation training equipment (driving, use of force) and live training environments (non-simulation for example live firing range).
Collect, analyze, interpret, and manage scientifically valid and reliable research data.
Prepare scientific reports to communicate results of research projects to academic, scientific, lay and police audiences in meetings, conferences, and scientific journals.
- **Qualifications**
***A PhD in Kinesiology, Applied Science Human Movement, or related field and a minimum of 4 years of related experience.
Knowledge of the theories and principles of human factors sciences and human performance acquired through the completion of a thesis-based master's or doctorate degree with a specialization in psychology is required.
Previous experience with creating scientific literature reviews and use of scientific literature databases such as ScienceDirect, PSYCINFO, PsycArticles, and other similar databases.
Experience with statistical data collection, analysis, interpretation, presentation and data management methodologies and processes (such as variance, regression, and chi-square).

- work week earning 1 day off in a 3 week cycle.
