**Position Description**:
The Intake Coordinator will coordinate all language requests for Chinese and Arabic languages. The coordinator will provide support to the staff interpreters and ensure the scheduling of interperters is timely and efficient. The Coordinator will work with the other languages' intake coordinator to provide administrative support to the team and provide coverage as required for Spanish and non staff languages.

**Here’s What You’ll Get To Do**
- Ensure timely and professional communication is maintained with all clinical staff regarding their requests
- Collaborate with staff Chinese and Arabic interpreters to ensure appointments are efficiently scheduled
- Work with our community partners/ agency to schedule contracted interpreters as needed
- Ensure all contracted interpreters meet mandatory requirements for medical interpreting before scheduling them at SickKids
- Review all invoices for Chinese and Arabic contracted interpreter requests for Senior Manager to pay
- Support any departmental administrative needs that may arise
- Support the non staff languages intake coordinator and schedule Spanish requests (coordinated by staff interpreter) as needed
- Work with team to coordinate preparation of agendas and record minutes as required at various team meetings
- Support senior manager by providing requests data and ensuring stats are accurate
- Handle small projects/assignments as requested

**Here’s What You’ll Need**
- Diploma in a related discipline, bachelor's degree preferred
- 2 years in a hospital setting preferred
- Experience with Epic is highly preferred
- Strong computer skills (Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
- Ability to deal with all levels of staff, external partners, patients and families with tact and diplomacy
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Demonstrated ability to be self-directed and work with little supervision
- Excellent organizational skills
- Ability to multi-task and manage last minute changes

**Employment Type**

1.0 FTE, 1 year contract
