Job Summary

The Lead Animator is a key member of the show that is responsible for managing animation on episodes and a team of animators assigned to the episodes and sequences. They are a part of the leadership team that drives the quality and style of the show. The Lead Animator partners with the other Lead Animators and the CG Supervisor to achieve these goals.

**Responsibilities**:

- Manage sequences and continuity of sequences across an entire episode - Attend dailies for notes and feedback, work with artists assigned to a particular sequence including managing their time and quota (keeping track of delivery dates) - Work with the other Animation Leads to drive the pipeline, working with TD's and artists to ensure they have the tools they need to accomplish their work - Manage what is shown to the Director during dailies - Ensure artists work meets the quality standards of the show by providing artists with notes and drawovers to improve their animation abilities - Help with the animation process including troubleshooting shots and technical problems as necessary - Monitor shots as they roll from department to department, including ensuring they are set up and delivered properly - Remain current and up-to-date in animation techniques - Contribute to quota as assigned by the Assistant Production Manager

**Qualifications**:

- Degree/diploma in fine arts or animation or equivalent experience - Senior level in animation, character animation and lip syncing - Minimum 4 years of experience in animated films or TV shows - Proficient knowledge of high-end 3D software (Maya) is required - Strong understanding of animation, acting performance, and cycle - Proven leadership and organizational abilities - Able to communicate creative and technical notes in a productive manner - Desire to learn and develop new pipelines and processes with an exciting new team
