- **Role Summary**_
- Home Base is seeking experienced, dynamic and motivated individual to fill full-time position as a _**Youth Housing Manager **_within our _**Housing for Youth Program**_. The Youth Housing Manager works to assist residents of the Housing Program, ages 16-24, to navigate the various systems within the community of Yellowknife including education, employment, recreational and support programs, training with a goal to achieve increased independence while residing in a safe and supportive housing environment._
- **Responsibilities**_
- Actively support the vision, mission and goals of HBYK
- Manage the Housing for Youth Program to ensure it is delivered professionally, maintaining a harm reduction, recovery-oriented approach
- Recommend changes to improve the effectiveness of HBYK Programs and Services, including documentation and reporting
- Participate in scheduled and emergency shifts as required. Participate in on call shifts will the on-call phone
- Ensure that the self-identified goals of residents in the program are supported by the appropriate services and practices
- Maintain a collaborative approach that is dynamic and flexible to meet the needs of the individuals in the program
- Maintain an excellent working relationship with participants, families, caregivers, guardians and other support agencies in the community
- Liaise with community service providers and other professionals to coordinate housing services, facilitate referrals for housing, find new housing units, and engage and coordinate new housing projects in the community for youth
- Provide team member training opportunities as it relates to the program
- Monitor and authorize expenditures in accordance to the budget
- Monitor unit activity and respond to any complaints
- Communicate with rental company to secure units and ensure invoicing is accurate
- Communicate and liaise with Income Support as required
- Develop trusting and respectful relationships with all youth in the housing program
- Initiate weekly checks on all youth in units or as necessary
- Have an open communication with all clients to ensure they are supported
- Document participant progress in their electronic file

**EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE**
- University degree in social work, youth work, organization management, program development
- 2+ years previous work experience in which the duties and tasks were similar (managing a team of staff, supervising staff and youth, developing programming, working with other program coordinator to develop improved programming)
- 19 years of age or older
- Speak and write in English
