**Qualifications**:

- A passion to end homelessness
- Able to provide a satisfactory criminal reference check - vulnerable screening sector
- Lived experience with homelessness/poverty is an asset
- Experience working with vulnerable or at risk individuals in the area of disabilities, mental health issues, homeless, poverty, preferred
- Diploma in the human services field is required or related experience with other schooling
- Administration experience required
- Clean valid driver’s licence and access to a vehicle is preferred

Reporting to the Housing Support Manager, or such other persons as required by the organization, the Administration Support Worker will support the successful transition of participants to long-term housing and assist those participants to maintain stable housing with proper community support.

This position is an on-site role in a Supportive Housing Environment with 20 units for those experiencing Chronic Homelessness

**Responsibilities**
- **Administration and Reporting**_
- Record daily activities and important information, participant attendance of set meetings and programming, and monthly statistics.
- Create and maintain documents meant to gather documentation and facilitate communication.
- Assist with the development of policies and procedures by preparing documents for review or editing requested information.
- Assist with the purchase of supplies within budget quotas and prepare reports as needed.
- **Participant Programming**_
- Assist with ensuring all programming has a housing focus at the heart.
- Assist in implementing and/or organizing programs that will assist participants to develop skills of independent living (tenant rights and responsibilities, budgeting, utility setup).
- Work with participants one on one to develop life skills and develop healthy habits.
- Work with the participant in meal planning and preparation and other daily life skills as needed.
- Directly assist participants to maintain their apartments. Note any extreme collecting behaviour and intervene as required or seek the support of the team for further action.
- Assist in the arrangement of recreational activities to foster further social development.
- **Community Resources and Supports**_
- Accompanies participants to hospitals, doctors, courts, shopping, etc as necessary.
- Assists participants to connect to appropriate community resources (food bank, CMHA, addiction support, etc).
- **Participant Engagement**_
- Help to build positive relationships that are healthy and supportive.
- In line with the Housing Caseworkers, assist participants to define their goals and develop personal plans.
- As needed and with the Housing Caseworker's direction, assists participants with tasks related to housing start-up (moving, accessing furniture, and household goods).
- Follow housing preparation plans for participants in collaboration with other staff members. This includes arranging steps for participants to move into housing (income verification, financial management, etc.).
- De-escalate participants and help them work through the issues that are causing problems including conflict resolution between neighbours.
- Address promptly any behaviours that could lead to harm to themselves or others or any behaviour that goes directly against the agreed-upon program expectations.
