The Communications Officer supports CCHC’s internal and external communications strategy, writes and disseminates publicity material, responds to inquiries for the public and media and coordinates promotional and special events.

**Qualifications**
- A Bachelors degree in business, communications, marketing, public relations or a related discipline from a recognized college or university.
- Minimum three years of experience in a position in the not-for-profit sector (or a demonstrated understanding of the sector through volunteering) with a focus on communications, public relations, professional writing, or equivalent work-related duties.
- Bilingual—can speak and write proficiently in both official languages.
- Ability to use graphic design software (e.g., Canva, Adobe Illustrator) to create print and electronic communications products. For example, annual reports, social media graphics, etc.
- Proficient with workplace software programs including Microsoft Office.
- Knowledge and experience with social media and how to increase engagement and visibility
- Demonstrated flexibility and effectiveness within a rapidly changing environment, short deadlines and multiple priorities.
- Demonstrated change management experience to support staff adoption of communication strategies and techniques
- Demonstrated project management skills
- Ability to work independently with mínimal supervision and collaborate effectively in an inter-professional team environment.
- Demonstrated respect and value for the diversity of the community and individuals
- Exceptional attention to detail.
- Understanding of local and provincial governments’ role in health and social services is an asset.

**Desirable**
- Funding proposal development experience in the non-profit sector.

**Compétences**
- Un baccalauréat en affaires, en communications, en marketing, en relations publiques ou dans une discipline connexe d'un collège ou d'une université reconnue. Diplôme ou grade collégial ou universitaire reconnu en administration des affaires, en communication, en marketing, en relations publiques ou dans un domaine connexe.
- Un minimum de trois années d'expérience à un poste dans le secteur sans but lucratif (ou une compréhension avérée de bénévolat dans le secteur) avec une concentration sur les communications, les relations publiques, la rédaction professionnelle, ou des tâches de travail équivalentes.
- Bilingue - sait parler et écrire couramment dans les deux langues officielles
- Capable d'utiliser des logiciels de conception graphique (p. ex., Canva, Adobe Illustrator) pour créer des produits de communication imprimés et électroniques. Par exemple, des rapports annuels, des infographies pour les médias sociaux, etc.
- Maîtrise des logiciels de travail, notamment Microsoft Office.
- Connaissance et expérience des médias sociaux et des moyens d'accroître l'engagement et la visibilité.
- Flexibilité et efficacité avérées dans un environnement en évolution rapide, avec des délais courts et des priorités multiples.
- Expérience avérée de la gestion du changement pour soutenir l'adoption par le personnel de stratégies et techniques de communication.
- Compétences avérées en matière de gestion de projet
- Capacité à travailler en autonomie avec un minimum de supervision et à collaborer efficacement dans un environnement d'équipe interprofessionnelle
- Respect et valeur démontrés pour la diversité de la communauté et des individus.
- Attention exceptionnelle aux détails.
- La compréhension du rôle des gouvernements locaux et provinciaux en matière de santé et de services sociaux est un atout.

**Souhaitable**
- Expérience dans l'élaboration de propositions de recherche de fonds dans le secteur non lucratif.
