SUMMARY OF THE POSITION

Reporting to the Director, Sustainability, the incumbent supports the development of the sustainability strategy as well as program development and implementation across all business lines. This is a global role that supports all of Cogeco’s operations across Canada and the United States. This role involves collaboration with each business unit in order to ensure that the initiatives and projects defined are implemented and monitored for progress. This position supports the development of a corporate culture that emphasizes the management of our top environmental, social and governance (ESG) risks and opportunities.
- MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES- Evaluate the impact of the company's activities under the following three aspects: environmental, social and governance.- Support the development of the sustainability strategy, based on the priorities defined by management.- Review and update the Sustainability Policy and ensure its establishment in the various business units.- Develop, compile and monitor performance indicators in sustainability.- Manage the drafting of various external and internal sustainability communications (including the production of the annual ESG & Sustainability report).- Support the curation of responses to engagement inquiries from investors, ESG rankers and rating agencies and customers.- Monitor best practices in the telecommunications and media industry to identify opportunities for improvement.- Support the sustainability stakeholder engagement and communication plan which aims to inform internal and external stakeholders on Cogeco’s Sustainability initiatives.- Develop and participate in the positioning of the company on various social issues.- Support Scope 1, 2 and 3 Greenhouse gas calculations for Cogeco’s GHG inventory.- Support materiality assessment analysis and integration of the results into the business strategy.- Work with the procurement department to implement responsible sourcing initiatives (e.g. science-based targets goals, supplier code of conduct and supplier diversity).- Prepare presentations for meetings of the quarterly SustainabilitySteering Committee and follow up on the action items raised.- Support the implementation of various sustainability initiatives at Cogeco.- Keep abreast of all federal, provincial and local ESG-related requirements, and closely monitor developments and changes.

**REQUIREMENTS**:

- ACADEMIC TRAINING- Bachelor's degree in applied sciences or in a field related to sustainable development or the environment. A combination of academic training and relevant work experience would be desirable.- WORK EXPERIENCE- At least 8 years of experience, in particular 2 to 5 years of work experience in sustainability-related roles.-
- Experience in preparing Annual Sustainability Report, CDP report, ESG rating agency responses and ESG data supplements.- STRENGTHS- Knowledge of ESG Rating ecosystem e.g. S&P, ISS, MSCI, Corporate Knights, UN Global Compact, Refinitiv etc.-
- Familiarity with GRI, TCFD and SASB standards/frameworks.- SPECIFIC SKILLS- Very good sense of initiative, judgment and tact.-
- Ability to analyze data and trends.-
- Ability to communicate with diverse audiences: senior management as well as employees.-
- Planning, organization and autonomy.-
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, in English and French. This role involves extensive report writing, proofreading and communication with stakeholders across North America.-
- Ability to lead and coordinate meetings and groups.-
