Interior Health is looking for a permanent full time Lead, Digital Health Business Continuity to join our Information Management Information Technology (IMIT) Digital Health department. The location for this position is flexible within the Interior Health region.

**What will you work on?**

The Lead, Digital Health Business Continuity is accountable and responsible for the facilitation, development, management, implementation, evaluation and maintenance of Business Continuity (BC) planning and the Disaster Recovery Plan (DRP) for Information Management Information Technology (IMIT) at Interior Health (IH). The Lead, Digital Health Business Continuity provides leadership, education, senior level guidance, and consultative advice on all matters related to Digital Health business continuity, disaster recovery planning and procedures. In addition, the Lead, Digital Health Business Continuity provides advice and recommendations regarding IMIT risk, disaster recovery, and business continuity to the CIO and VP Leadership team and other leadership teams. Ensures current state coordinated recovery measures for all mission critical business and clinical information systems in order to mitigate disruption to the delivery of healthcare in the event of a significant unplanned downtime.

The Lead, Digital Health Business Continuity maintains an active working relationship with the IH Director of Health Emergency Management BC (HEMBC). The Lead, Digital Health Business Continuity guides policy and procedure development; assists in the facilitation of financial aspects of planning, develops and maintains business relationships with stakeholders both internal and external to IH; negotiates and facilitates consensus in carrying out risk assessments and developing and maintaining of environment requirements and contingency plans; and makes recommendations working with senior management at IH.

SOME TYPICAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Develops, implements, monitors and evaluates the Digital Health BC and DRP program to meet critical goals and objectives, and ensure programs aligns with established standards of practice, organizational policies and objectives, applicable regulations with particular focus on the requirements of IMIT and the mission critical business and clinical systems, and services it supports.

2. Manages the delivery of business resilience program elements to the business units through the completion of Risk Assessments and departmental Business Impact Analyses.

3. Provides leadership, guidance, consultation and education to all IMIT staff using effective leadership and communication skills. Represents IMIT and provides recommendations to other internal and external stakeholders, including HEMBC. Acts as a liaison to provincial stakeholders on technical requirements related to B.C. and DRP. Works with internal and external Auditors as required. Manages and executes Digital Health BC and DRP communication strategies and procedures.

4. Prepares reports and work plan summaries, reporting on the status and risks to the CIO and VP Leadership team and to other IH leadership committees and stakeholders.

5. Assists with the financial planning requirements for BC / DRP and risk management planning.

6. Conducts risk assessments, develops mitigation action plans, and performs post-implementation evaluations of Digital Health BC and DRP activities in liaison with stakeholders.

7. Develops and implements annual, bi-annual audit or other processes to facilitate the ongoing maintenance and coordination of Digital Health BC and DRP procedures.

8. Maintains current knowledge of best practices in BC and DRP and proposes refinements to IMIT’s BC and DRP function as appropriate.

9. Leverages technology and applicable toolsets in BC and DRP processes to maximize the efficient use of stakeholder time and maintain a well-organized content storage system.

10. Identifies and resolves arising issues through negotiation and conflict resolution with stakeholders.

11. Liaises with the IMIT Project Management Office, IMIT Service Management and HEMBC to ensure connectivity into the IH response plans; identify and establish broader incident and emergency management goals and objectives, and to identify and establish communication technology systems to notify and track incident and emergency events.

12. Ensures IH’s Emergency Operating Centre’s (EOC) are equipped with adequate computing and communications technology; maintains training and educations material to support EOC technology.

13. Works with IMIT Service Management and HEMBC to establish clear activation procedures between IMIT and HEMBC during emergencies. Collaborates with IMIT Service Management and HEMBC on joint exercises to ensure interoperability.

14. Performs other related duties as required.
