**Purpose of Position**:
The Crisis/Intake Worker is the first point of contact for new clients and completes all initial service assessments and agreements for clients seeking service from the Mental Wellness team.

**Some of the responsibilities of this position are**:

- Provide intake to new clients of the Centre;
- Provide culturally-appropriate direct service including client assessment and referrals, crisis intervention, advocacy, and case management;
- Provide advocacy and referrals to help clients access relevant community services;
- Enter all client information and statistical information into the Electronic Medical Records system and other databases as required;
- Maintaining accurate, confidential, and up-to-date client records, ensuring required information is shared with organizations receiving referrals, and monitoring referral status of clients;
- Other administration tasks in order to provide high-quality client care or as dictated by the needs of the organization.

**Qualifications**:

- Post-secondary completion in Social Service Work other social services program of study;
- Exceptional customer service skills and problem solving ability;
- Experience working in a front-line service role;
- Able to work and thrive in a high pressure, fast paced environment;
- Excellent computer skills - experience using an Electronic Medical Records System will be considered an asset;
- Ability to speak an Indigenous language will be considered a strong asset;
- Knowledge, sensitivity and awareness of the history, culture and unique needs of the urban Indigenous culture;
- Excellent organizational skills with strong oral and written communication skills;
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools, particularly Excel, Word and PowerPoint;
- Ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends.
- Clear criminal reference check to work with vulnerable population is required.

**Salary**:
Range $48,000 - $50,000 per year + Benefits
