**General Description**

Design, implement and manage program activities and facilitate ongoing development and evaluation for the program. Responsible for the overall quality of program services and responding to evaluation data to make ongoing program improvements related to graduate research and training. Participate in critical appraisal of research related to assessing the needs of the program, graduate students, and employers related to research and training. Responsible for managing the program
budget and forecasting projected resource needs. Deals with stakeholders and participants on a provincial and national basis.

**Representative Duties & Responsibilities**
- Create training materials and curriculum for various stakeholders, including graduate students, and postdoctoral fellows.
- Develop criteria to assist participants in determining their career development needs.
- Design literature search strategies and critically appraise research literature to use in developing strategies for program design and enhancements.
- Conduct literature, database, and web searches to obtain evidence-based resources.
- Summarize research findings by authoring research abstracts and write sections of manuscripts.
- Create an online inventory of coaching and development resources.
- Maintain a literature and bibliographic database for internal retrieval and external requests.
- Participate in research and scholarly activities related to assessing the needs and conducting evaluations of the program through data collection, critical appraisal, statistical analysis, and the dissemination of results to stakeholders and funding agencies.
- Develop and implement knowledge transfer strategies.
- Analyze current program operations and identify areas for process improvement and develop implementation plans.
- Develop and implement an annual plan that includes strategic initiatives, new program/events, metrics and benchmarking identifiers and resourcing needs.
- Collect data required to aid in the development of the appropriate program structures and resources.
- Develop educational materials, tools, resources, and services to support training, career and professional development.
- Plan and coordinate a variety of events, activities, career development and training workshops including tracking registrations, booking venues, coordinating catering, and distributing information to participants.
- Create evaluation forms for workshop participants. Gathers feedback and recommend changes to future workshop formats.
- Create and deliver presentations at conferences and partner institutions.
- Maintain communication and collaborative partnerships within the project team and various stakeholders. Gain cooperation of program partners and engagement of program participants.
- Advise participants on training, career and professional development.
- Develop, and monitor project budgets by summarizing financial reports and monitor expenditures.
- Stays abreast of new research, methodology and critical appraisal techniques, related to research training, career

education and professional development programs.

**Supervision**
- Has responsibility for supervising 1 to 4 continuing employees.
- Ongoing responsibility for supervising up to 9 casual employees at any one time.
- Ensures quality adherence to quality standards and procedures for contractors and short-term staff.
- Occasionally provides orientation and shows procedures to others.

**Qualifications**
- Masters degree in Social Sciences, Humanities or related field.
- Requires 3 years of relevant experience, including one year of supervisory experience.
