**EHS Program Manager**:
U-Haul Risk Management is searching for an EHS (Environmental, Health & Safety) Program Manager - Canada, to support company standards, policies and strategic directives, and work with Management to develop and implement new strategies improving the business. As the EHS Program Manager - Canada, your focus is to serve and support Field Operations.

**_ Please note, this position is based in, and would be responsible for serving the needs of our Canadian team in the western portion of the country. _**

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

- Work collaboratively to ensure each U-Haul Location (Store, Shop, MCO) Manager is trained and aware of specific action required to maintain U-Haul EHS standards and Canadian governmental EHS compliance.
- Assist with U-Haul Facility initiatives to support needs for Location Managers to maintain standards and compliance.
- Perform daily, weekly, and monthly reviews at U-Haul Facilities to inspect for EHS standards and compliance.
- Promptly report inspection results to Marketing Company Presidents (MCPs) when action is required, including any concern for meeting standards and compliance, as well as recommended corrections.
- Analyze reports and gather feedback on new/existing tools and processes to make improvements and increase efficiencies.
- Assist with compliance for incidents that may occur during day-to-day operations and involve U-Haul Team Members or property. This includes root cause analysis, near-miss reporting, notice only, medical only, and lost time claims.
- Manage and oversee WorkSafe/WCB claims and promote Stay-at-work/Return-to-work programs including mediations, RTW planning, appeals and tribunals.
- Provides communication strategies to effect change and prevent recurrence, ensure post-incident safety recommendations are implemented.
- Support the U-Haul Disaster Recovery Program, including unplanned and immediate travel.
- Support U-Haul Team’s to ensure motor carrier compliance including but not limited to:

- Assist in compliance efforts with driver abstract and monitoring program. Including identify areas of non-compliance.
- Participate in commercial driving incident reviews to identify mitigation and training opportunities to prevent future occurrences.
- Oversee/assist telematics program including regular reporting to business line management on utilization and maximizing operational effectiveness.
- Stay current on commercial motor vehicle regulations and communicate updates/changes effectively.
- Manage expenses with Economy & Effectiveness (E&E) to ensure the best service at the lowest cost.

**Skills, Requirements & Qualifications**:

- Extensive travel required (up to 50%).
- U-Haul experience with knowledge of field operations.
- Handle sensitive/confidential information and/or data with a high degree of discretion.
- Naturally successful in quickly developing relationships, rapport and trust with individuals and teams.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Positive, upbeat, initiative-taking and “can-do” attitude.
- Ability to act and respond under pressure and do so with quality results and professionalism.
- Strong organizational, project management and critical thinking skills.
- Enthusiasm to help without being asked.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office.
