**Role Summary**

The Finance Specialist, Group Benefits Billing, is responsible for supporting team members, internal business partners and external clients. The Finance Specialist, Group Benefits Billing is also responsible for invoicing various products and Ancillary requests.

This role encompasses many aspects related to Billing & Collections, including but not limited to:

- Issue resolution for client escalations
- Posting and validating various financial and control audits
- Supporting team members
- Training new hires, as well as established team members on new processes or functions

The Finance Specialist, Group Benefits Billing will also be involved in projects aiming to implement strategic initiatives and process changes, leading to measurable and sustainable improvements in service delivery.

**Responsibilities**
- Demonstrate ownership and a willing to drive change
- Participate in assigned projects (assessing impacts to the team, accounting impacts, testing & reporting issues)
- Manage various audits and partner with Group Finance to meet required deadlines
- Produce and deliver executive summaries and any other reporting within specified turnaround times
- Support internal and external audits
- Motivate and train team members, enabling them to achieve their performance objectives and broaden their field of expertise
- Ensure training requirements are identified and actioned to keep staff up to date
- Work with the team to identify, develop and implement continuous improvements to current processes
- Take a proactive approach to client issue resolution to understand root cause and prevent future occurrences
- Manage and deliver a positive client service experience for non-standard cases
- Demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills in order to effectively manage relationships with team members, clients and internal business partners

**Requirements**:

- Bilingualism (French, English, both oral and written) is required for the frequent interactions with English and French-speaking colleagues or internal partners across Canada and worldwide.
- Solid understanding of Group Insurance
- Excellent organizational skills, including the ability to work independently and manage time effectively
- Strong ability to recognize priorities
- Strong analytic, problem solving and decision-making skills
- Strong Excel skills
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
- Ability to motivate others in times of change
- Collaborative (experience working on team projects
