JIAS Toronto is a charitable organization dedicated to the welcome, settlement, and integration of new immigrants and refugees in the Greater Toronto Area. JIAS Toronto supports newcomers through case management, referrals to a wide variety of community and government agencies, workshops, and programs to support integration, and formal and informal language learning programs. **RESPONSIBILITIES**:
JIAS Toronto is currently recruiting for two (2) **Human Resources Interns **to work closely with the HR Team, assisting them with administration, policies, and recruitment. These full-time positions are funded by Canada Summer Jobs and require the incumbent to be between the ages of 18 to 30 years of age and be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act for the duration of the employment.** **These positions will pay $15 per hour up to 420 hours.**
The** HR Intern** will provide support by Inputting historical data into the HRIS system and training databases; providing payroll and administrative support to the HR team; Maintaining HR and employee files; Assisting with compiling HR related statistical data; Assisting in updating agency policies and employee handbooks; Supporting the HR team with recruitment by developing job postings and performing screenings; Assisting with scanning, copying, and filing of HR documents and maintenance of HR files.
The** HR Policy and Process Intern **will be responsible for** **Maintaining, reviewing, and updating policies and procedures according to internal procedures and controls; Mapping processes, drafting, developing, reviewing, and amending policies and procedures; Create and automate workflow charts; Reviewing and amending policies and procedures of the Human Resources department ensuring compliance with provincial and federal governments; Analyzing, simplifying, and summarizing complex information accurately
**REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS**:
- Post-secondary education in the area of Human Resources Management, Communications, Business Administration or a related field or equivalent experience.
- Experience in reaching and interpreting provincial and federal rules, regulations, policies, and procedures will be an asset.
- Experience in policy and procedure writing will be considered an asset.
- Exceptional written communication skills, to include composition, spelling, and grammar for editing documents produced in the English Language
- Knowledge in ADP Workforce now is an asset
- Excellent computer skills, including knowledge in Microsoft Office.
- Self-motivated and able to perform with mínimal supervision.
- Strong organizational and time management skills
