**RESPONSIBILITIES**

Financial Planning and Analysis
- Leads in the preparation of financial forecasts on a monthly basis.
- Leads in the preparation of monthly reports of financial results versus budget / forecast by means of the monthly financial review package.
- Supports the preparation of financial information presented to the Board of Directors.
- Performs ad-hoc performance measurement analyses and reports to support senior management.
- Develops Financial Models and analyses to support strategic initiatives on an ad-hoc basis.
- Plays a key role in the preparation of forecasts and the annual budget, including organization of the various planning activities, consolidation, and review of data for completeness, accuracy and conformance with established organizational objectives and current accounting standards, and works closely with the director in providing recommendations and completing related reporting packages.
- Leads the analysis of monthly deviations against the budget and forecast, interacts with the various departmental heads, and proactively identifies issues worthy of attention, determines the cause and renders suggestions for course of action to address the issue.
- In charge of variety of special projects in support of senior management.

Financial Accounting, Reporting & Governance
- Participates in the month-end close by preparing certain accounting entries such as certain provisions for sales, warranty as well as other areas such impairment analyses, discounting of long-term accounts receivables and stock-based compensation.
- Review Financial Accounting Analyses for external reporting purposes.
- Participate in the higher-level Financial Reporting required for external public reporting including various monthly reporting for stakeholders such as lenders.
- Participates in responding and compiling documentation to support various audits for borrowers and external financial statement auditors.
- Participate in continuous improvement of the finance function including recommendation & implementation of internal controls and best practices.
- Lead divisions should they be transferred to Finance due to the company’s restructure & transformation.
- Other Upper Management Level Finance responsibilities.
- Participate in ad-hoc requests.

Tax
- In charge of all income tax, sales tax and withholding tax filling and research, as well as all corresponding governmental tax audits in Canada, USA, and EU.
- Participates as a liaison with external tax consultants and provides required information in order to prepare annual tax returns.
- Responsible for all tax related correspondence.

**KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED**

**EDUCATION**
- Bachelor of Commerce with Major in Accounting or Finance
- Professional Accounting/Finance designation (CPA, CA / CBV / CFA) - essential

**EXPERIENCE**
- 3-5 years relevant industry experience.
- Experience with personnel management.
- Retail experience is an asset.
- Financial consulting experience is an asset.
- Preferably, prior auditing experience.

**SKILLS**
- Strong analytical capabilities, creative thinker, demonstrates ability to provide actionable insight to decision makers.
- Ability to deliver in fast paced environment, highly driven, self-motivated.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel and Power Point skills, financial modelling experience is an asset, experience with other BI tools is an asset.
- Strong leadership skills with an ability to motivate and engage.
- Good knowledge & understanding of tax regulations.
- Solid understanding of GAAP, preferably US GAAP.
- Detail oriented with high standards of precision, highly organized.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal - English and French)
