**About the role**

IT Financial Control & Governance Manager

**Reporting to: Director IT Finance**:
**Primarily supports: Finance IT SVP, Finance IT VPs and Finance IT operations**:
**Location: Montreal (2020 Robert-Bourassa Blvd.)**:
**SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Manage and develop 2 to 3 employees in the current C&G team in line with the finance transformation and increasing ownership, build a mindset of continuous improvement and strong collaboration
- Contribute to the development and implementation of an appropriate internal control framework
- Coordinate activities between the different groups involved in the ongoing month end activities, budgeting and forecasting process to optimize the use of resources
- Act as the main business partner for a specific VP to help them understand financial results and influence decisions to align them towards the achievement of financial objectives, provide analysis of key variances and cost trends
- Drive the delivery of change, continuous improvement, and a strong control framework for Finance
- Gather information and produce analysis and reports
- Seek opportunities for improvement in all areas of responsibility
- Work collaboratively with the Financial Compliance and Accounting Research teams
- Contribute to the development, delivery of an appropriate internal control framework
- Collaborate with the stakeholders and promote “fit for purpose” reporting on compliance with controls
- Establish relationships across Finance at the practitioner level to identify current problems and opportunities and feed these into the programme of change
- Collaborate closely with other managers to achieve financial transformation and assess the potential for continuous improvement and provide financial tracking of internal productivity initiatives
- Improve the monitoring of the IT team's operational costs by building new dashboards, improving current monitoring, and participating in monthly meetings
- Ensure appropriate documentation for all team tasks and lead online training with them
- Build and maintain strong relationships with operations and other finance teams
- Lead the first line of audit
- Responsible for creating strategies to facilitate processes within the organization and must be able to perform various duties

**QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS**:

- Bachelor of Business Administration. A CPA designation is a strong asset.
- Minimum 8 years of relevant experience in managing personnel.
- Very strong modelling skills and ability to present financials to non financials colleagues.
- Strategic thinking, strong leadership, and analytical ability and very well organized.
- Interest in learning IT systems and understanding operational structure and processes.
- Ability to lead multiple projects at the same time, be autonomous, proactive, creative and demonstrate team spirit and “can do” attitude.
- Clearly communicate, in writing and verbally in French and English.
