The District of Squamish is seeking a permanent full-time Manager of Recreation Services to manage, coordinate and

oversee the day-to-day operations of the Recreation and Culture department. Under the general supervision and

direction of the Director of Recreation and Culture, this position plays a key leadership role within the department in the

delivery of high-quality programs and services through customer service, community engagement and effective resource

management.

**GENERAL SUMMARY**
Reporting to the Director of Recreation and Culture, the Manager of Recreation Services is responsible for the
management, coordination, budget control, and staff supervision of the Recreation and Culture department. This
position plays a key leadership role within the department in the delivery of high-quality programs and services
through customer service, community engagement and effective resource management.

**Recreation and Culture Management**
- Contributes to the success of our team and creation of our thriving community, by fostering the District of

- Meets regularly and fosters positive community relations, partnerships and agreements with user groups and community

stakeholders.
- Manages the programming operation of the facilities within budgets, policy guidelines and procedures.
- Undertakes long-term financial planning and prepares preliminary department budgets.
- Develops, monitors and evaluates work plans based on goals and objectives established for each area of
- service as well as strategic plan priorities.
- Reviews and develops departmental policies and procedures.
- Approves facility user groups schedules and allocation of indoor and outdoor recreation assets in relation to policy.
- Reviews and supports implementation of District approved strategic plan components, Council strategic objectives, and

key projects related to Recreation.
