**_Manager of Environment_**:
**Permanent Full-Time**

Are you an environmental professional who is passionate about creating a greener and more sustainable future? As the Manager of Environment, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and executing the District’s environmental programs and initiatives. From leading a team of professionals and fostering strong connections across internal departments and external stakeholders, to overseeing the development and implementation of environmental protection policies, bylaws and strategies, this new role is your opportunity to make a lasting impact in our community and beyond.

**_Key Responsibilities include:_**
- Provides leadership and directs the day-to-day tasks and projects of the Environment department when it comes to environmental protection standards and permitting functions.
- Develops and implements environmental protection policies, standards, bylaws and strategies that align with the District of Squamish's environmental goals and objectives.
- Represents the District by acting as the liaison and providing technical advice and support to various federal, provincial and municipal agencies, community interest groups, the public, other external stakeholders.
- Ensures the District's compliance with environmental laws, regulations, and policies, including overseeing the preparation of environmental impact assessments and other regulatory submissions.

You are a forward-thinking and dedicated professional who holds a Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Sustainability, or a related field. You are also registered, or have ability to become registered, with the Association of Registered Professional Biologists of British Columbia. With a proven track record of over five years in your field, you have progressively navigated your areas of expertise, and your innate ability to connect with people is a cornerstone of your success. You've consistently championed ethical practices and responsible decision-making throughout your career and you value diverse perspectives, embrace collaboration, and recognize the unique strengths each individual brings to the table.
