The Calgary Surge tipped off their inaugural season at the WinSport Event Centre in May 2023, after originating as the Guelph Nighthawks, one of the founding members of the Canadian Elite Basketball League (CEBL). From day one, the Surge have been committed to being the _Home Team_ for Calgary and a space where everyone is welcome. The Calgary Surge are active members of the community and have participated in hundreds of events (and counting) around the city

that connect the team with diverse communities through sport and entertainment. The Surge have made back-to-back CEBL Championship Weekend appearances and were crowned Western Conference Champions in 2023. Fans can expect even more excitement for 2025

**Job Summary**

**Key Responsibilities**
- Revenue Operations - the combination of people, processes, and technology that ensures the organization generates and retains revenue._
- Support the development and execution of revenue generating activities like youth sports camps/clinics, sponsorship fulfillment, and merchandise and apparel sales that have the potential to grow into established lines of business.
- Establish an organized and professional approach for the tracking of key KPIs like registrations, sales, contact frequency, engagement rates, customer feedback, etc. that leads to more data-driven decision-making.
- Act as a secondary point of contact for sponsors, vendors, and corporate and CEBL partners as it relates to gameday and other related deliverables.
- Coordination of part-time staff and volunteers who have the primary responsibility of executing community events/activations.
- Business & Basketball Operations - the daily activities of the front office and gameday staff that increase the value of the organization._
- Consistently deliver essential business and gameday-related collateral and operations.
- Use task management and organization tools (e.g., Monday, Microsoft Office, Mailchimp, GSuite) to manage/update inventories and sales figures (e.g., working files), track customer feedback, prepare event briefs, and assist with some external communications (e.g., newsletter, registration forms, etc.).
- Adhere to budget management and resource allocation parameters set by the Leadership Team.
- Serve in a leadership role at offsite locations where Surge are activating/operating (e.g., Surge-owned and/or operated basketball courts, Surge-rented spaces); focus on maximizing opportunities for efficient and effective operations.
- Work across the Leadership Team to ensure all aspects of gameday or special events (e.g., ticket scanning, activations/experiences, venue logistics, marketing deliverables, run of show, etc.) are properly prepared and executed in a smooth and replicable manner.
- Coordinate the logistics associated with live events and activations (e.g., complying with safety protocols, set up and tear down, etc.) and basketball operations (e.g., overseeing player residence cleaning)
- Provide to the Leadership Team, outlining key performance indicators (KPIs) such as merchandise and apparel sales, event tracking, customer satisfaction, camp registrations, etc.
- Ensure alignment between the execution of the organization’s gameday, live event, and community operations and the Calgary Surge’s Principles for Winning (Vision, Strategy, Values & Mission)
- Brand - the combination of people, processes, and technology that both markets the organization and its core products and performs opportunity identification._
- Organize and support the operations of special events as needed.
- Contribute to the development of a community engagement strategy that strengthens our image and builds brand awareness, relevance, reputation, and esteem among target audiences.
- Define, analyze, and respond to the best community-related practices from peers and competitors within the CEBL, outside leagues, leading-edge sport and arts and culture organizations.
