**COMPANY OVERVIEW**

The Prairie Payments Joint Venture (PPJV) is a joint venture owned by three Prairie centrals created to digitally transform and modernize payment services for credit unions the Prairies. PPJV’s goal is to ensure prairie credit unions are competitive in payments and have access to efficient, modernized payments processing infrastructure.

Alberta Central is the central banking facility, and trade association for Alberta’s credit unions and one of the centrals that owns the PPJV. Beyond being an owner of the PPJV, Alberta Central also plays a key role in PPJV’s operational success by acting as a shared services provider, offering support in areas including communications, risk management, and compliance, amongst others.

**ROLE SUMMARY**

PPJV is seeking a full-time Finance Intern to support our Finance team at our Calgary, AB Location. The Finance Intern will focus on accounts payable processing and analysis as your primary responsibility. The position will also involve supporting special projects, contributing to process improvements, and gaining hands-on experience in a dynamic finance environment.

**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Assist with the end-to-end accounts payable process, including invoice verification, coding, and timely payments.
- Collaborate with vendors and internal stakeholders to resolve discrepancies and ensure accurate processing.
- Analyze accounts payable data to identify trends, discrepancies, and areas for improvement.
- Work closely with the finance and accounting team on special projects, providing analytical support and contributing to project deliverables.
- Assist in implementing process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy within the finance department.

**EDUCATION, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE**
- Currently pursuing a degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field (2nd year or above preferred).
- Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy in data entry and analysis.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- A proactive mindset and enthusiasm for finding innovative solutions to challenges.
