Trades Dispatcher/supervisor

Dogwood Ltd. in Surrey, BC is looking for a **Trades Dispatcher/Supervisor **to dispatch our in-house technicians, manage subcontractors, schedule service work, and handle the ordering of materials and equipment.
Dogwood Ltd. works on commercial renovations and facilities maintenance for businesses in the retail and food industry, pharma, restaurants, and financial sector.

**MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES**:
- Create work schedules for in-house BC service technicians.
- Responsible for scheduling jobs using subcontractors.
- Supervise technicians, monitor their day-to-day performance, and track their time for payroll.
- Ensure technicians work safely as per WCB standards and Dogwood’s health & safety policy.
- Support and motivate the technicians’ team to meet deadlines and standards of quality within budget.
- Identify areas of improvement and address any work-related concerns directly with technicians.
- Escalate any major issues with technicians to management and/or HR.
- Responsible for communicating all relevant information between clients, technicians and all team members.
- Responsible for creating new client accounts in database.
- Track service work and small renovation projects from start to finish.
- Responsible for ordering materials and supplies for service work and for small to medium size projects.
- Responsible for calculating time and materials on work orders and preparing them for invoicing.
- Responsible for scheduling repairs and maintenance on tools and equipment.
- Share on-call responsibility according to the established rotation schedule.
**SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES**:
- Provide supervision, guidance and mentorship to the technicians’ team
- Handle new technician orientations in collaboration with Operations Manager and HR
- Provide input for technicians' performance evaluations
**QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS**:
**Required Experience**:
- 5 years of dispatching experience as a coordinator within the construction or trades industry
- 2+ years of supervisory responsibilities
**Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities**:
- Strong computer skills in Microsoft Office
- Strong organizational skills
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships
- Strong communication skills - written and verbal
- Ability to prioritize tasks
- Ability to solve problems efficiently
- Knowledge of Salesforce is considered an asset
